to swap pretty, sexy knickers for big, sensible ones?!

these in fact I bought them yesterday and they are enormously (if you'll pardon the pun) comfortable.

I'm so tired of wearing lacy knickers that rub on my caesarean scar, turn into thongs under jeans and generally make me feel uncomfortable all day long - am I the only one?!

YANBU.

I hide my big knickers from DP (my pride rather than his attitude) but love wearing them. They're like a hug from your own underwear.

Fifis25StottieCakes · 30/06/2011 21:48

YANBU

I think thongs and lacey knickers are so uncomfortable.

You can get some pretty big knickers which still look sexy.

Theres is nothing more uncomfortable than a thong or lacy knickers under skinny jeans. Yack.

dontquotem3 · 30/06/2011 21:49

I don't think YABU. I'd take comfort over the opposite any day. Have you tried Marks's midi range as an alternative to the full brief, or do they not come up high enough to cover your scar?

For the full brief though, perhaps not florals. M&S do nice pastel or neutral colours though.

Nowt wrong with big knickers IMO.

worraliberty · 30/06/2011 21:52

Oh God I have to say I read the thread before I clicked the link in the OP. Therefore, I thought I was prepared for the worst.

I wasn't! Shock

Honestly, they are hideous on so many levels. Surely there must be another 'non flowery' solution OP?

Fifis25StottieCakes · 30/06/2011 21:56

No ive just done the same. Them knickers are awful.

Have a look on peacocks, they have some nice underwear which are really cheap.

GreenEyesandHam · 30/06/2011 21:58

Hehe I'd not clicked either Grin

Still my POV is the same.

BIG PANTS ROCK

Empusa · 30/06/2011 21:59

Eek, they are bad!

If you want high waisted, at least go for something pretty, like this or this

worraliberty · 30/06/2011 21:59

GreenEyes Have a click and peep through open fingers Grin

Fifis25StottieCakes · 30/06/2011 22:01

Empusa - bloody hell, the 2nd ones are a bit flimsy Shock

PacificDogwood · 30/06/2011 22:02

Re CS shelf - IME it does get better, but does no disappear Sad.

I did not want to be rude about OP's flowery bloomers (see what I did there?? ), but they are seriously granny-ish.
IMO.

That's all.

floweryblue · 30/06/2011 22:04

Pacific exactly what I like to wear, and they look good and feel good

GreenEyesandHam · 30/06/2011 22:04

No I have clicked now worra.

If you squint a bit and move your head back from the screen, they don't look too bad..,

Anyhow, BIG PANTS ROCK!

But maybe the floral ones not so much Grin

Callisto · 30/06/2011 22:04

Spider - those are seriously large knickers. I think I'll stick with my little thongs (which are very comfy, even under skin tight jeans, even when I'm riding).

floweryblue · 30/06/2011 22:05

No No No Fifi, you can't go cheap, Sloggi or better it has to be

BitOfFun · 30/06/2011 22:07

Bring back big pants. I am going to get some.

Fifis25StottieCakes · 30/06/2011 22:07

Flowery - no sloggi's for me. Ive got to do everything on he cheap and 3 for a fiver suits me, ive never had any complaints Grin

PacificDogwood · 30/06/2011 22:07
Wink Wine
AuntiePickleBottom · 30/06/2011 22:07

i buy these, as it also tucks in my mummy tummy...i did try the control underwear and they are soo uncomfortable

worraliberty · 30/06/2011 22:07

I've taken 12 steps back and I'm squashed against the wall

Still not loving them Grin

schroeder · 30/06/2011 22:07

Midis are good for me (2x cs) and I've recently discovered some modal shorts from primark-extra comfy Wink

Those flowery ones are a bit much, but really what does it matter if you are comfy.

floweryblue · 30/06/2011 22:08

I think I am thongaphobic, rather see big pants VPL than assume something scraping someone's bum hole.

RevoltingPeasant · 30/06/2011 22:10

The MnS shorts are nice - they do them with fruit on.

And honestly, at my age, I am past caring what anyone thinks of that.

floweryblue · 30/06/2011 22:11

Fair enough Fifi, I have a budget too, just have found cheap pants a false economy, I think 'bleaching' has been discussed on another thread Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 30/06/2011 22:11

Also, re: thongs: my doctor mate used to call them 'shitty strings' and said they were responsible for some truly disgusting infections.

razzlebathbone · 30/06/2011 22:12

They're cool. Channeling Dolce&Gabbana S/S 2011. Lovely continental, retro, fifties looking things.
