AIBU to refuse to serve ds1 friend a bacon roll with tomatoe sauce?

It is my humble opinion that some foods only go with certain sauces

So making bacon rolls for ds's friends (teenagers) I refused to serve a bacon roll with tomatoe sauce to one of them as it gives me the willies...

I can happily make and serve bacon rolls with brown sauce or even barbeque sauce, but tomatoe sauce is a major no no.

I have said the friend may enter the kitchen and put his tomatoe sauce on but I refuse to do it (mainly because the thought of it makes my skin crawl)

Is it reasonable to refuse a food request based soley on the fact the requested combination makes you be a little bit sick in your mouth at the thought of it?

I also turned down this friends request for a ham and tomatoe sauce sandwich last summer, saying he could have it with pickle, salad cream or mayo but no way was I putting tomatoe sauce on ham.

(he may think I'm nuts )

i cant stomach brown sauce or bbq sauce.. Red/tomato sauce on bacon/sausage/egg sarnies :) Yum Yum.

DS likes cheese sandwiches dipped in tomato sauce. I'm known to be fond of dairylea & tomato sauce sandwiches. While I like brown sauce on a bacon butty, I prefer tomato sauce. And definitely tomato sauce on a sausage butty. Unless you're offering piccalilli?

pesha friend is a guest not my ds so I was trying to be nice making food but I just can't bring myself to put tomato sauce on bacon.

Some food stuffs should live in different continents and NEVER meet (tomato sauce and bacon/ham , or chicken and baked beans)

YANBU- Brown sauce goes with bacon. It's just a fact of life

I loathe tomato sauce, bacon needs to be naked, alone in all its baconness!

My daughter puts tomato sauce on everything.
In fact I did a cooked dinner yesterday, she declared she didnt want gravy, and proceeded to smother her dinner in tomato sauce.
Gross- but she ate every last scrap!

Yum, yum, hot bacon sarnies with a soupcon of Daddies... deee-lish and, IMO, much nicer than a BLT, ham sandwich with mustard and hold any other accompaniments....it's down to personal taste/habit/custom.

I'm with you on this creamola and YANBU unreasonable because you're happy to make/cook food and let others decide what they want to add to it even if their choice makes you feel queasy.

Tomato sauce on anything is just plain wrong.
I got a bit on my finger yesterday when clearing away the dinner plates. I had to scrub my hands several times before I could carry on.

YANBU but I was going to give you a YABU because I thought this was a veggie thread. Though I mostly respect people's sensitivities I get bored every now and then.

But it's red sauce, not tomato sauce.

And whoever likes fruity sauce is either disgusting or signalling to other perverts.

YABU. You don't have to like red sauce to accept that actually, it does go with bacon. But who puts sauce on a guest's sandwich for them anyway? Surely you place the condiments on the table and let them help themselves?

I have a strict policy of "my house, my rules", so I'm with you in principle even though I allow ketchup with everything :o
