to want baby to be a boy because it'll make bedroom arrangements sooooo much easier? Having a girl is going to make life difficult!

I've voiced this to a few people but they seem to think its an odd reason! Also I have lots of boys stuff whereas my girls baby clothes are long gone. DS is my only son, have 3 girls so another boy would 'balance' the family out as well.

If I think about it, I'm actually worried that baby might be a girl.......

Then my apologies! I obvs read it the wrong way Blush

Shock of course I'm not going to 'get rid' if its a girl. I have nothing against girls.......I have 3 of my own!

And this is an unplanned pg otherwise I might have thought the bedrrom issue through prior to being in this situation. Unfortunately I dont think I'll ever be in a position to move house (single at the mo) but maybe would be able to do a loft convertion in the future.

Whilst I know I am lucky to be able to have childen at all.....thinsg arent always marvellous and this has been a tough time for me.

I suppose I was just trying to chat about it........sorry to anybody I've offended.

I ssmiled at your OP Kidderminister.
When I was pregnant with DS1 everyone convinced me I was having a girl. They went on about my shape, my gait etc. Anyway DS1 pops out . It had been a hard labour and my heart sunk when it was a boy. ONLY because of my expectations. I can scarsely believe that I waved the nurses away dismissively. (DH just says what do you expect, you were ripped , tired and sore!!)

A few years later I was pregnant again. Everyone asked if I wanted a girl this time. I gave the usual comments -y'know ' I cdon't mind, I 'm just hoping everything is ok'

Whe DS2 pops out I nearly punched the air in triumph!!! I didn't know that I had secreatly hoping for another boy.

ANyway tbh I would have been glad with what ever nature had given me.

You know you will be the same but I can understand your ponder about bedrooms and clothes.

I am in admiration of 5 children though!!

I have 3 dd'd and went through a phase of wanting a DS.

The sleeping arrangments put me off as i would have to put 3 dd's 9, 7 and 2 in one room and if i had another DD 2 of them would have to share a box room.

So 3 dd's it is Smile

YANBU OP for all the reasons MmeLindor give.

YANBU to have a preference for practical reasons and you are right to be thinking ahead, how far along are you? Hopefully they will be able to tell the sex soon enough and if it is another beautiful girl you can work something out.
OP I shared a room with my brother who was 8 years older and we had the best fun ever, I don't think its the end of the world to have boy and girl siblings share, my brother had his side covered in Metallica posters I had Take That....we are still best friends to this day (more so than the other siblings)
