... To expect my DP to wash fruit

Me, DP and DS1 sitting eating fresh cherries purchased cheap from fruit shop for our pudding. He had taken them out of plastic punnets and put them in a bowl when we got them yesterday. I see DS1 (aged 2.10) go to eat a mouldy one. DP goes "I had to chuck quite a few mouldy ones away when I unpacked them". He then admits he did not even rinse the rest. I am not happy, he says no big deal. AIBU?

When I pick blackberries I take from the top of the bush to avoid dog/fox wee. I used to wash fruit but often don't bother now.

100% of all people who don't wash fruit will die eventually. But so will 100% of those who do....

I always wash fruit. My Dad used to work on the docks and told me horror stories about what some of the dockers used to do to fruit as it was unloaded. Maybe things are a bit more sanitary these days, but when you think of the fact that so many men don't wash their hands when they go to the loo....

BTW, that fact has been confirmed by all the men in this household! They assure me that they do, but tell me that most men don't. DS1 has ASD and is incredibly truthful about everything!
