Pushing DS around a shop when shop lady starting commenting on him "ahh he is lovely" etc etc blah blah. I then noticed her clocking my lack of wedding ring Angry (left them at home - very muggy here and my hands always swell up in heat). I felt compelled to mention that I was looking for a gift for my DH for our anniversary tomorrow... Blush

Was I right to feel the need to point this out??!

When I was pregnant I once sat opposite two nuns on the tube (again not wearing my rings...). Goodness me I wanted to smack their disapproving faces. I do look very young as well. Gggrrrr. I'm not even bloody religious. Why do I care that other people care if I am not married??!! Confused

There is a strange phenomenon concerning nuns where I live. A couple of years ago my mum, sisters and I realised that we often saw nuns in tea shops but never anywhere else.

What's all that about then? Do they just materialise at a table?

Top spot is currently held by mum who found no fewer than nine nuns in a cafe in Cromer.

SWINGING NUN'S BREASTS

Have these nuns no shame? Do they have pampas grass?

Maelstrom · 25/06/2011 16:20

Swinging breasts??? Shock do they have... breasts? really? Hmm

PrettyMeerkat · 25/06/2011 16:21

Where do you live? You say it's muggy and there are lots of nuns, got me wondering.

Hullygully · 25/06/2011 16:21

no fewer than nine nuns in a cafe in Cromer

That sounds like a line from TS Eliot.

BooBearBoo · 25/06/2011 16:22

Ok I have another one (again very very true) - my DH was once in a film where he had sex with a nun (but didnt realise she was a nun until afterwards).

Didnt really have sex obv - twas a film.

My goodness. Why are there so many nuns in my life???!!

Pampas grass!!! whatever next? and they look in despair to your hands??? shame on them!

[honestly, I think they are not doing it to annoy you, or... did they wave to you when you saw their breasts?]

PrettyMeerkat · 25/06/2011 16:24

He was in porn?

ShirleyKnot · 25/06/2011 16:24

What the what? What sort a film was it?

Was the actress a nun or was the character a nun?

PrettyMeerkat · 25/06/2011 16:24

Where's Cromer? Is that where you live?

BooBearBoo · 25/06/2011 16:24

Pretty - no. Just films!

I used to love that as a gel, Shirl.

BooBearBoo, Ok, I am now entirely fascinated by your life and I must know all about it. Why is it muggy with nun breasts opposite? Why was your dh in a film? Why was there an incognito nun in it? Having sex?

Maelstrom · 25/06/2011 16:24

porn? my goodness! [cross herself and leaves the thread]

BooBearBoo · 25/06/2011 16:24

UANBU - My OH and I are planning to get married but the lack of an engagement ring is judged by the kids I teach for one. Our DD was planned as we decided that there is no time limit to getting married but fertility is a mystery...

BooBearBoo · 25/06/2011 16:25

Maelstrom - no, totally oblivious!!!! I think she is anyway... Hmm

PrettyMeerkat · 25/06/2011 16:27

So where do you live? Tell tell!

ShirleyKnot · 25/06/2011 16:27

Hully - that joke was the first rude joke I ever got told and I didn't understand it so just went "ha ha ha" like that

And then I went home and told it to my mum.

ShirleyKnot · 25/06/2011 16:28

I like this thread

The nunnery is opposite where I work. I saw the other nuns on the tube. And DH's nun film was filmed in another country :)
