creamola · 24/06/2011 11:58

I'd appreciate some honest feedback.

I have never had to shave my legs , my legs are hairless....completely hairless.

But I constantly get chatter from friends..........oh i have to shave my legs before i go on date.............oh shave legs before wearing skirt.

Surely I cant be the only female in the UK who has never had to shave her legs

Is there any other, hairless (leg and outer arm) women out there?

What, none at all?

I'm not very hairy (blonde, pale skin) but have definitely got visible hair on my calves - gets darker and thicker towards my ankles. Annoyingly it's still getting darker as I get older.

I did once get asked if I shaved my arms because they are not very hairy. (I don't).

droves · 24/06/2011 13:00

im very hairy . I shave my legs , feet ,toes , arms , stomach , pluck the nipple hair ect.

im actually more hairy than dh ...Hmm

im not dark , have gingery/darkblonde hair ....leg /foot/arm hair grows in blonde, ...toes ,stomach and occasional nipple hair grow in black !!! wtf!

no facial hair though so ,i got off better than my sis who has a tash that gets waxed Grin

creamola · 24/06/2011 13:02

i had a small gathering of hairs just under my knee when I was 16 .

I asked my dad if i could use his razor and he said 'yeah if you shave your legs now you will look lie godzilla within the month'

So I never shaved ................and i am hairless .

Brunette as well bananamoney .....dark hair pale skin

I am virtually hair free as I've had my legs lasered this year.
Before I would have to shave every day or epilate.

OrangeHat · 24/06/2011 13:05

Am very furry
It's very light blonde though
Don't shave that often

Lots of blondes are actually very hairy - did you know we have more hairs on our heads than other colours although the hairs themselves are finer (boring factoid). It just doesn't look very obvious against a pale skin.

ThePathanKhansWoman · 24/06/2011 13:06

Barbarian the Laser treatment is very painful, my skin is v.pale so it worked well in places{works best on fair skin and dark hair} however some of the hair on my face is in fact red/auburn{that'll be the Irish in me then} and it won't respond.

Even now, i know if the house was on fire it'd be 1. Razor 2.Child Grin. I'd love to go camping, but need a full on bathroom with hot running water in privacy so i don't frighten everyoneSad.

MorelliOrRanger · 24/06/2011 13:11

Lucky you OP

I have dark hair so they do need doing 2-3 times a week.

creamola · 24/06/2011 13:17

so I'm I the only hairless one??????

I was hoping there would be other hairless people here Blush

I still feel freaish now

Moderately hairy - only bother shaving legs when wearing skirts and only have about 6 hairs each armpit.

But I have another question - does anybody know if leg-hair turns grey with age? Because if so I'll start waxing now [scared]

No hairs above my knees, and finish, fair hairs belopw the knee (do shave them though. My Mum didn't have leg or underarm hair - shame I didn't inherit non hairiness from her!

ThePathanKhansWoman · 24/06/2011 13:23

per ones pubes do! [sorry to lower the tone].Grin

LucretiaInShadows · 24/06/2011 13:23

Very hairy here - was checked out for hormone imbalances as a teenager, but no joy, I'm just unlucky. I have to shave my legs/armpits every day unless I'm wearing thick black tights or trousers. I shaved my arms years ago, but can't be arsed now.

I had a friend at school who didn't grow hair on her arms and legs, and neither did her mum, so Creamola, you're not alone!

PerAr6ua - don't know, don't look forward to finding out, but if eyebrows do, and pubes do, the signs aren't good...

Ephiny · 24/06/2011 13:27

I'm another one with pale skin and lots of dark hair. It's very annoying and to keep legs/armpits looking 'acceptable' I would need to shave almost every day or epilate at least once a week. Weirdly I've never had very hairy arms, though there is some hair if you look closely, it's just quite fine compared with my leg hair.

The only women I've known with negligible/no leg hair have been of SE Asian background, not sure if that applies to you OP?

mintymellons · 24/06/2011 13:28

Quite hairy at the mo - need to get the epilator out.

LaWeasel · 24/06/2011 13:29

Really hairy here too. I shave every day or the monkey resemblance kicks in (or I'm wearing jeans and therefore don't give a stuff) I have dark hair which is partly why it's so noticable.

I think if I had pale hair it would be easier to be casual about it, but seriously, I could easily rival my DH in hair producing skills...

spookshowangel · 24/06/2011 13:30

i am the opposite v hairy have been since puberty. have a line of hair from my belly button to my pubes, get nipple hair, and in early 20's started getting chin hair, it genetic my mum and sister are the same. oddly my brother isnt overly hairy. i would have a mono brow to if i didnt pluck. i have to shave pretty much every day to be smooth but who has the time so every other day, i also shave my toes Grin, pluck my nipples and my chin. i leave my belly line alone. i call it my happy trail, because i know once i start messing with that its a life time commitment and no one has ever really noticed it or commented on it so what the hell.

Bunbaker · 24/06/2011 13:36

"I epilate my legs now (shaving too painful)"

How is shaving painful. Epilating is far more painful than shaving. I tried epilating, but I get too many ingrowing hairs in spite of exfoliating. Waxing also gives me ingrowing hairs, so I end up shaving. If I don't I could plait the hair on my legs.

ThePathanKhansWoman · 24/06/2011 13:38

I hate that its acceptable to laugh at hairy women, unless you are one, you can't understand how utterly soul destroying it can be [drama Queen].

Im so envious of all the women here who aren't hairy, but grudgingly happy for you.

ThePathanKhansWoman · 24/06/2011 13:41

spooks one of my brother used to call the belly hair a "crab ladder" took me ages to catch on Smile.

bananamonkey · 24/06/2011 13:42

Bunbaker I have some dents and bruise marks on my legs from a fall a couple of years ago that just haven't healed completely. They are still a bit sore, the hair on these patches is thicker and it's painful to shave over these bits now, the skin gets relly dry. Epilating is a bastard but I don't have to do it as often and it kinder to these patches.

I tried epilating my bikini line but ohsweetjesus what kind of pain is that?! I can cope fine with waxing but that is pure evil.

Meglet · 24/06/2011 13:42

I find shaving painful. The hair on my legs is very thick and even an ultra sharp razor hurts me. Shaving will only last a day at most.

I've waxed for 20 years and even now the smoothness from waxing will only last a week. I also bleach and pluck a few times a week Sad.

PelvicFloor0fSteel · 24/06/2011 13:44

I have ridiculously hairy legs (also have Irish heritage, not sure if it makes a difference), I shave them if I'm getting them out, but spend most of the time in tights/trousers. My arms aren't as bad, some people would probably do something about them but I can't be bothered. I pluck my eyebrows otherwise I would have one big one, but I do have fabulous, long, dark eyelashes which make up for some of the inconvenience!

olderyetwider · 24/06/2011 13:45

I have virtually no hair on my legs. 20 years ago I did, but now it's all moved up to my chin
