Or can you manage both? How do you do it?

FreakoidOrganisoid · 24/06/2011 17:54

petisa, I'm an aries...am I meant to be messy then?

My life's a mess admittedly but I like my house to be tidy (there's probably something to be read into that actually)

petisa · 24/06/2011 18:02

Och I don't really believe in astrology Freakoid, but it would appear so!

However, Beta and LeQueen, do you have on your person or in your bag, at all times without fail, some clean tissues? I'm conducting a lifetime survey on this and only one Virgo has ever answered no to this question.

Actually, I've just realised my baby is a Virgo - poor lass is doomed to a childhood of unmade beds, shoes knocking about the place and towels that do not match Shock

See, as much as I don't believe in astrology, this is the kind of answer I always get LeQueen Grin. I wish I was as organised!

Cocoflower · 24/06/2011 18:15

LeQueen.

Just out of teeny bit of interest... what are your bad pointsGrin

You seem to perfect- help the rest of us feel better!

(Though I do have that stuff in my handbag too as well various selection of spare knickers, broken crayons and the odd raisin)

TimeWasting · 24/06/2011 18:16

My sun sign is Leo but I have many other planets in Virgo. I want everything to be ordered and tidy, but think it's beneath me to actually do the work. Grin

MoreBeta · 24/06/2011 18:25

petisa - I once put a photograph of or bedroom furniture up. Never our house though as it is far far too identifiable to anyone.

We always travel by train and I carry, tissues, baby wipes (which I use to thoroughly wipe down the tables if we are eating), alcohol based antibac gel spray for cleaning hands and kitchen roll (to use as an impromptu table cloth or napkin), pens, notebook, vaseline, paractomol,.....

Oh God that looks so awful written down. Sad

petisa · 24/06/2011 18:25

Grin TimeWasting. Ooh how do you find out where your other planets are?

LeQueen, would you be horrified if I told you my dp has a sock drawer stuffed full of single socks, none of which are paired up, some of which match and some of which ceased to have a partner many moons ago? And every morning he just picks up two random socks of roughly the same colour and puts them on? Grin I was horrified, but decided to risk a relationship anyway.

Petisa....

I will let you into a secret with socks....

Make sure all of them are one colour only, no patterns.

Saves hours....

With the kids sock put them in a ball and wash them so its OH doesnt get lost Grin

TimeWasting · 24/06/2011 18:34

Coco, I only buy DH bulk packs of black socks, and I don't pair them up at all. The drawer is full of individual socks. If he wants them pairing he can do himself.

Petisa, someone had my whole astrological chart done for me as a birthday present when I was a teen. It's better if you know what your time of birth was, as well as the date and place. Because each planet is concerned with different aspects of life it makes for a much more subtle pile of bullshit analysis. Grin

petisa · 24/06/2011 18:35

Oh Coco as tempted as I am to match said socks (and I know I would secretly really enjoy it) I refuse to as I am a feminist, I was not put on this earth to match up those socks. Grin I just ignore its existence and close my eyes when he takes his shoes off.

momino · 24/06/2011 18:42

what is really pathetic is that I'm spending my precious time reading this thread instead of tidying up Blush.

hairfullofsnakes · 24/06/2011 18:44

LeQueen I want to be you!

What kind of mag is your dh's? I am a bit of a writer too! Smile

hardcolin · 24/06/2011 21:06

lesley33 - I agree, it's much easier to tidy up as you go along. My DH and DD don't feel the same way that I do though.
I have a clean but untidy-at-times home. The untidy times seem to be after school and work hours.

newportstateofmind · 24/06/2011 21:12

Possibly......but add a full time WOHM into the mix and it becomes impossible. I aim for a clean house rather than a tidy one.

Woodlands · 24/06/2011 22:06

I wish I was tidy. I would like to be. DH despairs of me. I am a Virgo as well. I do clean but am pretty untidy.

We have just moved DS into his own room and although because of lack of space some of our stuff (books mainly) have had to stay in his room, all his toys, clothes and everything else are now in there and they all have their own place. It is so lovely being able to tidy it at the end of each day and it looks so clean and tidy!

Sidge · 24/06/2011 23:00

I'm a Virgo too Blush

And I have a little bag in my handbag that contains tissues, wet wipes, tampons, paracetamol, hand cream, lip gloss and eyeliner and change for the car park.

God I'm so boring.

But useful.
