Why do they do it? I just don't get it. Recent trolly threads about tokophobia (particularly the stillbirth one) have been really distressing for a lot of people. Why would you want that? I just don't get it. Confused

Link even....

LadyBeagleEyes · 22/06/2011 21:18

Thanks for the link Portofino.
Read the gist of it, I'd rather not read it all, there are some very sad people around.
I'm happy just to stick to chat from now on, to post that kind of shit on a childbirth thread is beyond the pale.

Portofino · 22/06/2011 21:21

It is terrible because people post personal experiences. Grrrrr. I don't know what else to say really. Sick.

Pumpernickel10 · 22/06/2011 21:32

What gets me is someone will read that and be so affected by it, the OP should hang her head in shame!

LadyFlumpalot · 22/06/2011 21:38

Oh my... if the OP of that thread was a troll then that is an unspeakably insensitive and disgusting thing to do. I hope to whatever powers are out there that no-one is too badly affected by it.

Sad
Tortu · 22/06/2011 21:42

When I worked in Staples as a teenager, I often used to get so bored in the evenings when there was very little to do that I'd make up things just so that I could have a conversation with the customers e.g. 'that's so funny, I love glitter pens too' etc. A bit trolly?

They asked me to leave eventually.

PelvicFloor0fSteel · 22/06/2011 21:51

Oh shit, I think I've just found out where she got the idea from, there was someone on one born every minute who had an elective CS after stillbirth, mentioned on this thread.

CheeseandGherkins · 22/06/2011 21:56

I think I'll avoid that thread :(

lostintransition · 22/06/2011 22:02

PelvicFloor which poster? I must have missed it...

PelvicFloor0fSteel · 22/06/2011 22:03

LaraCameron Sat 21-May-11 15:40:25
My sincerest apologies- the lady on one born every minute had suffered a stillbirth and that is why she couldnt face another labor- I am deeply sorry as I was mistaken. I started watching the show late, and so probably didnt catch the full reason- what I did hear was misleading. Her reason is more valid than anyone else's. So sorry agian.
The good news is that baby and mum are doing very well. God bless them.

MmeLindor. · 22/06/2011 22:18

Pelvic
I think you are right, and that Lara and the OP of the stillbirth thead are the same person. Similar posting style and issues

Themumsnot · 22/06/2011 22:25

Was the Zeebrugge poster a troll? Do we know that for sure?

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 22/06/2011 22:26

Oh dear, LC was a sock puppet on the other thread, no?

Weirder and weirder. I hate MN sometimes.

:( Angry Confused

Please compare and contrast this too

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 22/06/2011 22:29

Yes, totally convinced all 3 are the same - same style, very similar content.

But WHY? And why pick on stillbirth- again? I get sucked in every bloody time.

OP posts:
MmeLindor. · 22/06/2011 22:31

Definitely same poster as Lara. She misspelled emergency room the same in both threads.

Peachy · 22/06/2011 22:31

It's a MH thing I am sure.

I am blessed not to have been unlucky enough not to have lost a child but do think the leech variety have targetted me for other reasons at times. Am pretty sure some are the same person- can't explain why, hackles rise when the person posts under any name and I know I am not alone. generally the trolls have a very limited frame of reference and complete inability to see anything outside of their own tiny world.

It's sad really.

But I do find myself that I am having to elarn to self protect because whilst it ws once maybe annually now unless I walk away it is weekly or more.

Someone on a thread recently asked whetehr MN was waiting for it's first suicide: I suspect that, powerless as they are to remove posts before they can be seen, they are just a little bit. Not willingly of course: they seem good people. But it could happen.

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 22/06/2011 22:33

Hideous thought Peachy.

MmeLindor. · 22/06/2011 22:33

In addition to which I have gynecological conditions as well- sometimes my menstrual cramps are so bad I have to be taken to the emmergency room.
Happened twice in america- hubby thought I was dying or something!
I know all these things have nothing to do with my birth experience but, they certainly add to the fear. My cousin lost her baby during a vaginal delivery because of forceps. So I am petrified to be honest!

From Lara

lostintransition · 22/06/2011 22:34

and both women had a neice/cousin who had a baby die 'throught the use of forceps' Yeah really? And a mother/uncle who's an obstetrician. Hoooooge coincidence....

electra · 22/06/2011 22:34

The awful ones involving ill or dying children and miscarriages are done, imo because the person posting is missing something in their life and the attention they get makes them feel better. It is very sad. I started a thread on here about trolls (which got deleted) and I was shocked to learn about some of the recent notorious trolls and the damage they had caused. And somebody mentioned that one on another forum called Emma somebody kept everyone hooked on stories about her unborn babies for months even years and even posted pictures of them in SCBU - really sick but even sadder what would possess someone to decide to do this.

lostintransition · 22/06/2011 22:38

and theres a point in the stillbirth thread where she forgot to name change...20.6.11 23:35:16

meditrina · 22/06/2011 22:41

Would anyone mind if I reported this thread to MNHQ, simply to ensure that they are aware of all the points raised?

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 22/06/2011 22:42

I noticed that too lostin, so why haven't MNHQ deleted it? They delete all kinds, but not this?

OP posts:
LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 22/06/2011 22:43

I have medit, but go ahead anyway, they might listen to more people...
