to wonder when MNHQ introduced the policy to delete threads simply because people are disagreeing?

I was just on a thread.
There was a disagreement over whether or not something was racist/offensive.

I could see no personal attacks, there was nothing that breached the talk guidelines.
I have no idea why the thread has been deleted.

So i can only assume it was because there was a disagreement on it.

Is this a new policy? Will we be seeing the vast majority of all threads being deleted now then?

Where exactly does the north and south divide? I'm in the midlands, and we're neither one thing or the other. The midlands is geographical limbo.

I genuinely thought the Watford Gap was a gap in another Hadrians wall type barricade.

I read it as chopsticks first time round as well....but caught myself before I made a 'witty' comment about taking them for my takeaway. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Chapstick makes a lot more sense though.

Every single one of these threads on this topic has descended into anger and name calling. Shouldn't we just call it a day on this?

Oh dear, beef curtains is not a happy thought.

Sn0wflake · 11/06/2011 20:01

Beef curtain is a bit grim but Iron curtain is a bit s&m and cool. Makes me think of metropolis (which I haven't actually seen).

Sn0wflake · 11/06/2011 20:02

I'm going to have to google Roy Harper.

SpringHeeledJack · 11/06/2011 20:03

I have missed all the anger and name calling. No racism, either

All I have managed to catch is sheer uproarious fuuuuun

scaredoflove · 11/06/2011 20:06

As someone who is occasionally recognised as someone who dislikes trollhunters and also will try to stick up for the underdog...

Those threads yesterday were hilarious - no racism, some bigotry at the very begininng (from the OP too) but nothing nasty at all

The songs were fantastic and kept me singing all day

Didn't find anything cliquey either - there were all sorts of names posting - some I recognised and many I didn't

Some people need to get over themselves and maybe sing along occasionally

Chickens - I am in the Midlands wastelands too - although also spent over 15 years living in Yorkshire - as for MN royalty - no idea, I am mainly a lurker
