Regular poster, name changed as I'm being a coward and for the reasons in my second paragraph. Social networking such as fb don't do it for me. I was happy and relieved to find this wonderful bunch of intelligent, aware, witty, articulate parents here. Always something to challenge and/or bring a smile, a better class of trivia social commentary, well thought through perspectives. I felt there was finally somewhere I could literally be understood.

I now find that because of recent changes, apart from the mind numbing nature of some posts, some responses reveal breathtaking ignorance at best and bigotry at worst.

Does this go in cycles? Should I just leave here now or AIBU?

Green ink?

We must have been infiltrated!

Look who writes in green ink!

I think the shocking and rude responses come hand in hand and are a result of so many mind numbing and useless or ignorant threads.

microserf · 09/06/2011 22:59

green ink is the sure sign of the nutter once worked in company secretarial department of listed company, all nutters wrote in green or purple ink

except for VIP spy james bond type people, i'm sure.

erm, i am conscious of being a new member myself so part of the problem. some posts can be quite racist or Daily Fail influenced. but on the whole, when i read a thread, i am usually impressed by the wit, intelligence and insight of the posters. i just ignore the racist/homophobic/unpleasant posts and read the ones with comments that make me wish i'd thought of it first Envy

sadly, my own posts tend towards the earnestly netmummy dreary .

pointy I started a thread about T.S. Eliot a while ago; I'm now wondering if it was the one you mean? Maybe not (in which case, er, Blush) but if it was I am so chuffed and amazed you remember it :)

I think at the moment I might be a little less likely to post about something like that, because it does seem a bit weird round these parts lately. I'm hoping things will sort themselves eventually and the natural order of things will be restored.

YANBU OP, but I just wade through the rubbish (some of which has on occassion been mine Grin) to get to the interesting stuff.

Lots of ignorance though. It actually scares me that this is reflective of people's thinking in RL when I read some things on here.
