.....to be fed up of the dog threads

Well I am.

Lots of threads cropped up recently talking about nasty, horrible dogs and nasty, horrible owners not controlling their dogs.

I thought we were a nation of animal lovers ? Or it that just an urban myth ?

I'm fed up of people pussy-footing around too.....I LOVE DOGS and it's well known that there are no bad dogs, but bad owners.

Hmmpphhh.

I think all dogs threads should be banned between april and september.

I don't think most people are bothered about the minor inconveniences caused by others. I got out of my parents' car the other day, but DS (13) got the two dogs out before me. He then threw the frisbee so that it (accidently) landed on the face of some glamorous, childfree woman in her twenties who was sunbathing on a rug.

I looked on horrified as DS did not recall the dogs, and him and the two dogs bounded towards the woman. She simply threw the frisbee back to DS and called nonchalantly to me - don't worry.

Because most people are aware that others make mistakes, and don't feel a need to get into a slanging match over it.

A seagull once swooped down and pinched the top of my ice cream at the seaside - ban them I say ! (Seagulls not icecream ) Grin

It will all blow over and people will pick on something else and we will soon be back to parking spaces , fruit shoots and sausage rolls .

katvond · 06/06/2011 16:52

Those bastard seagulls are vicious little cunts, had my pasty stolen last week police did not give a fuck either

May start a thread about that one :)

passiveaggresive · 06/06/2011 17:20

oh do katvond, i can come and argue with you cos i love seagulls, they are ALL called Percy don't you know

katvond · 06/06/2011 17:25

Passive do you live near the sea?
I do and they are a menace, the thing is we have made them like it because we feed them. Plus I've had them nesting near me too. And they dive bombed my jack russell :) :) and their shit is so hard to get off your clothes
Thats my argument lol

Ormirian · 06/06/2011 17:28

I like seagulls too. THey are so smart-looking and have a raffish charm. And yes one has eaten my pastie in St Ives and DS2's in Penzance. But I still love them.

Did you know there numbers have fallen so low they are at risk now?

katvond · 06/06/2011 17:30

St Ives is the worse place for them, I blame the emmets feeding them chips
Those gulls will stalk you for a pastie

passiveaggresive · 06/06/2011 17:31

Yes Katvond i do live by the sea, and i have a Jack russel too!! I often will buy a portion of chips specifically to share with the seagulls and my mum has one with a gammy leg come to her house every day because she puts catfood out for it.

My uncle once ran through a bunch of seagulls to scare them off and he got majorly shat on :o This has also happened to my DPs dad.

katvond · 06/06/2011 17:34

Passive my dear I've done a thread in your honour ;)

katvond · 06/06/2011 17:37

Theres one with a gammy leg in Truro I see about.

MrsBethel · 07/06/2011 09:23

Suppose you lived in a town without any seagulls. Then suppose your neighbour starts breeding seagulls in their garden. Then suppose they're bloody menace. Would you be happy with that?

I don't think it's the dogs people are annoyed with in all these threads. It's the owners. Some of them are inflicting their deficient care of an animal on their community.

A well behaved dog, on a lead, which has its shit picked up, and which doesn't make a row all night... no ones gonna have a problem with that.

DooinMeCleanin · 07/06/2011 09:25

Have you read the threads MrsBethal. A lot of posters do have a problem with dogs on leashes and believe they should be banned from being in public spaces and/or muzzled at all times. Talk about ott.

MrsBethel · 07/06/2011 09:44

I think that's because the only way to guarantee some scummy dog owner isn't gonna cause a problem would be to ban them all.

I agree, that's OTT.

It's the irresponsible owners which drive people to such extreme 'solutions'.

PinotGrigiosKittens · 07/06/2011 11:33

I love my dogs and my kittens

"A well behaved dog, on a lead, which has its shit picked up, and which doesn't make a row all night... no ones gonna have a problem with that."

Well you see I don't think that is true. There are some people who dislike them so much (for whatever reason) they would still froth at the mouth at the sight of said dog and would still want them banned. Sadly there are unreasonable people in the world.

Yes. Of course. I don't view seagulls as a menace.

What a stupid question.

My cat has read the defamatory number of threads here and will be suing. As soon as she finishes licking her derriere..
