AIBU?

To think that the song Nicole Whatserface sang on BGT was obscene.

And shouldn't have been on a family tv show? I know it was after nine but there must have been millions of kids watching.
It was all about her body being touched, someone going down down down, keeping her coming and talking dirty to her.
I am not usually so prudish, but I found it really offensive.

'Why on earth did they let her perform it?'

It's deliberate

I'm no prude but I was shocked. I was watching with my dcs, youngest 10yrs old.
I had the subtitles on so could see all the words, I quickly turned the subs off until she had shut up.
It was awful.

YANBU. I let my 9 year old stay up to watch the final and definitely thought it was a bit much for a show that is so obviously aimed at families. I'm sure there were many young children watching the final who would normally be in bed by then. Luckily DS seemed oblivious, I think he went off and did something else while she was singing!!

Just watched it. Urgh. Gross. And it's a shit song anyway. Depressing.

I was also Shock at the bit at the beginning when the judges were introduced and the camera started at Amanda Holden's ankles and slowly crept up to her face. Like something out of a Carry On film Hmm

I remember singing My Sharona when i was 8 or 9

agree about Rihanna though, she's a bit much, but she isn't trying to be a role model

I found her accent really weird, and yes very over sexual dancing

It's classic "epater le bourgeois" and that is why it is always done on family programmes at peak time with the highest audiences, so that the epatement can reach its height.

YANBU - am sick of sexual/violent songs blurting out all over the shop. You cannot escape - in lifts/town - they were playing Rihanna at play place the other day and I asked them to switch over. Not on exposing DC to it - and people wonder why DC are growing up too quick. Sexualisation of DC is my biggest annoyance ATM!
