On the back of hatred for GIMP (HAHA) is it so bad I love this programme?

Love Phineas and Ferb but the best cartoon for adults kids is the regular show.

bluepuffle · 05/10/2011 23:45

I wanted to hate it but actually its not so bad. However if i have to hear perry the platapus or Gitchi gitchi goo means that i love you (current favourite) sung in the back of the car one more time i will scream.

Sorry but i hate the regular show - i make the kids turn it off i don't really approve of it i guess

bluepuffle · 05/10/2011 23:49

Oh God and as for the aglet song ds drives us loopy with it

ReebleBeeble · 06/10/2011 00:32

Oh God, We LOVE Phineas and Ferb! DH Sky Pluses most episodes and is getting all excited over the idea of a PS3 game (hes 32...). He bought himself the CD and has played it so many times that Ive suggested he insert it somewhere special despite loving the show myself!
Our 5 month old (at the time) even wrote her own version of Agent P's theme on fathers day. With some help from Mummy of course;

"Hes a semi-neurotic,
cake baking Daddy of action!
His funny little Munchkin loves him more each Daaaaaaaaaaay.

Hes got more than just leet skillz
And he loves a good mixed grill
And Mummy swoons whenever she hears him saaaaaaaaaaay...

"Fancy a footrub?"

Hes my Daaaaaaddy!
Daddy can we get a Platypus?!"

Yeah, we're sooooo cool....

OhMyGolly · 06/10/2011 01:01

It's ok, along with the other one where the fairy godparents are fish. It's no pinky and the brain or catdog though, or ren and stimpy.

OhMyGolly · 06/10/2011 01:03

The pinky and the brain one, where one of them was a cowboy singer with massive legs, had all of our family roaring with laughter (circa 1995), really, so fucking funny.

Bogeyface · 06/10/2011 02:54

Whenever there is a row here about what to watch on TV (bearing in mind that our families ages are 46,38,20,14,9,6,5 and 4 months) we agree to put something on for everyone and it is ALWAYS P&F. We love it and the movie is great.

I have the Xmas CD too and it is brilliantly funny but also has Oliva Olson singing The Christmas Song (Chestnusts roasting on a open fire) which is amazing. She was the girl that sang All I Want For Xmas Is You at the end of Love Actually and she has a wonderful voice. Sorry if that has already been mentioned but I am skimming as I am going to bed!

Bogeyface · 06/10/2011 02:55

not families, obv! There is only one!

Kniternator · 06/10/2011 06:37

I love it so much. Hence my MN nickname. Big fans of Carl and Buford in our house.

HattiFattner · 06/10/2011 06:47

aren't you a little old to be watching F & P?

Yes. Yes I am.

I love the songs - they are genius. Did you know theres an album out.

HappyMummyOfOne · 06/10/2011 07:17

Love it too, especially the latest movie where Isabella kisses Phineus as she knows they wont remember Grin

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 06/10/2011 07:49

YANBU. It is one of the BEST shows ever. Love it!

TanteRose · 06/10/2011 07:53

Whatcha doing?

Grin
GingerWrath · 06/10/2011 08:11

I love that Slash was made into a cartoon for the film.

Love phineas and ferb, love the way instead of watching telly all summer they do things.

Bottleofmilk · 06/10/2011 09:23

this is great! i thought i was the only one that loved this show (aside from DD of course) it never occured to me to see if they had an album out, and i didnt know there was a movie, am sure DD would love them!

Bogeyface · 06/10/2011 09:43

DD once sang "Mom its your birthday" to me and made me cry! It wasnt my birthday but who the hell cares?! :)

notso · 06/10/2011 10:02

discobeaver glad I'm not the only one who thought it was "eight-legged mammal of action"!

Another fan here, DS1 always does the voice of Ferb for 10 month old DS2!

chickflit · 06/10/2011 10:22

"eight legged mammal of action" me and the DCs had a big conversation about that this week, with me asking why the called him that when he only had four legs - thank you so much for clearing it up for me.

DS sang mom it's your birthday to me too, on my birthday it was lovely and watcha dooing is regularly heard throughout the day in this house.

bluepuffle · 06/10/2011 11:54

an album - this will make ds's day first xmas present I feel.

I have to admit it being on wall to wall on a sunday can get a little wearing.

IWasTheBadOne · 06/10/2011 15:27

I loe the 'Mom it's your birthday song' - "I know I'm highly strung, it's just because I'm young"..always gives me a slight lump in the throat moment! It's just a genuinely funny, nice programme, not trying to be all cool and adult oriented like so many are these days, but instead it succeeds in being something all ages can enjoy. God I sound like such an old fart! Reminds me of my other favourite song, "He's weak in the knees and he can't find his keys"!

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 06/10/2011 15:33

Yabu, the marvellous misadventures of flapjack is far better.

flyingspaghettimonster · 06/10/2011 17:10

I want to marry Doofenshmirz... only kids' cartoon around now that I like...

AFingerofFudge · 01/07/2012 19:10

only just seen this thread - looked it up after DH asked me (somewhat sarcastically as I'm half on MN and half watching P&F with the DS's) if there was a Phineas and Ferb fanpage on Mumsnet!
We all love it- we were in Paris last week and I spent the day humming "in the city of love"

MrsTrellisOfSouthWales · 01/07/2012 19:19

Big fav here too. Although I do like Johnny Test too myself.
