about Grandpa In My Pocket?

I probably need a new hobby......

Am being subjected to watching Grandpa In My Pocket with DD, and can't help but wonder......

Why has Grandpa decided to share his shrinking hat abilities with Jason, but not with whatever-his-sisters-name-is? Or, for that matter, his son/daughter (not sure which one he is father of!)

Surely thats a bit sexist - favouring the grandson over grandaughter, or deeming her unworthy of knowing his secret (I'll admit though, she is a bit of a wet lettuce and could do with acting lessons)

And AIBU to be falling about in hysterics now because I've only just realised that the initials of Grandpa In My Pocket are GIMP? Grin

Oh, I seriously need to get out more!

One of my most loathed programmes but DS loves it. Hate the way they say the same things every week.

'Not the shrinking cap, Grandpa!' He never listens to you so why bother saying it?

'You know when Grandpa shrinks?' Yes, because you say it every fucking time. WE KNOW!

And I hate the way Jason has to describe everything that's happening as if we're not bloody watching it. I mean Charlie Chaplin didn't narrate his films because it was fucking obvious what was happening. But then I thought they probably narrate the action for visually impaired people and felt guilty for being irritated whilst still being irritated.

And they're all just so bloody twee and annoying and bad at acting. And the stupid made up words any me too.

FFS we're talking about a kids' show, not Spooks or Being Human! :)

My 2 year old grand-daughter loves the show, along with Chuggington, Roary, Bob, Dora, DirtGirlWorld, Bananas in Pyjamas and Thomas. They're all simple, entertaining, repetitive, predictable and lame as hell - all the stuff kids' shows should be, and every now and then they're even a smidge educational.

Unfortunately she also loves In The Night Garden, but I guess you can't have everything. My house is a Wiggle free zone. I can't stand the show. They were crap when they were the band The Cockroaches and they're still the crap that crap craps - but maybe that's just my opinion. Wink

I just find the whole Grandpa and Great Aunt Loretta being married in RL difficult to get over when watching GIMP!

Plus why does Loretta have such a different accent to her brother?
