To not understand why suicide is illegal?

Can anyone explain it to me?

Surely a person should have the right to be able to choose wether they want to continue living or not?

Blondes, I saw your name on here and I'm so sorry. Thinking of you.

TheCoalitionNeedsYou · 30/05/2011 15:17

It isn't.

I'm sorry for your loss. I too lost someone 2 months ago through suicide. If you haven't already I would recommend you contact sobs - a UK charity for those bereaved through suicide.

Don't be frightened to go to the inquest you will be kindly treated they will just ask you times, dates and circumstances. There will be no accusations made or finger pointing. I think you will be allowed to be in a private room until you are called it is nothing like being on trial so please don't fret too much.

It will draw a line under things for you. I am sorry for your trouble and hope you find peace in your life, your man is gone but you still have a future try and make it a good one. Don't lay stretched on his grave forever I wish better days for you pet.

Second that, they will be very kind to you at an inquest. It will just be gentle questioning so the judge can rule it was suicide. I haven't been to the inquest yet, but I have actually sat on a jury twice at a number of inquests. If people die in prison or on railway property there has to be a jury. Other inquests are just in front of a judge.

On both occasions we heard a number of inquests and the judge and everyone else was very gentle with the witnesses. Honestly, it is nothing like a trial. Inquests are usually held in public so you could always attend one beforehand if you wanted to so you can see for yourselve what happens.
