To think that our dd's very expensive boarding school ought to be capable of providing adequate medical care?

And not requiring my dh (who happens to be a surgeon, but nonetheless..) to drive through several counties in the middle of the night to assist at an operation?

Not entirely happy with the French teaching either but that's another thread...

Have you not told your daughter that her quick temper will get her into trouble?
How will she set an example to her younger sister?

sassyTHEFIRST · 28/05/2011 07:41

Ah, the temper. It can be a problem. I think she gets it from my dh - he is a strong, silent, heavy-browed type.

She did NOT push the girl over a chair Shock! though she did tell me that she slapped that Gwendoline in the pool once. I don't blame her tbh. You need to toughen up a little to cope with boarding school and Gwendoline is the most awful little prig, I've heard..

Now, the French. Shall I have a word with the headteacher? It seems to be taught by a gallic Laurel and Hardy from what I can tell - dd tells me that the girls have lots of fun teasing the teachers but don't seem to learn much

montmartre - I'd be seriously angry. If you're not careful she'll have to do it all over again when the grils reach their third year....

babybythesea · 28/05/2011 09:24

girls, even.

MrsGaGaGo · 28/05/2011 09:58

What's wrong with state schools? If your not happy move her then come on here and moan about it. Some people do like to brag don't they.
My DH is a bin man see me bragging ;)

Jeez those commoners breathing on your darling kids. How very very disgusting of them. Next time wrap Tarquin up in bubble wrap to stop they working class trash coughing on him ;) ;)
And yes I'm being funny :)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 28/05/2011 10:19

There is a right honourable at the school as well! You would think they would have a doctor on call.

horriblemotheragain · 28/05/2011 10:20

And your daughter has a vile temper!

SarahStratton · 28/05/2011 10:46

Oh God, I thought MrsGaGaGo was being June's mum from A Problem for the Chalet School. The pools winner whose DH was a binman.

Might not be June, actually. I can't remember her name.

Ahem, Darrell :)

edam · 28/05/2011 10:51

I'm not surprised you are disappointed - I understand they two girls managed to get out of the dorm and stay up all night with a horse with colic. ANYTHING could have happened - the horse could have collapsed on them, pinning them to the ground and rupturing something! Surely the fees we pay are enough to cover grooms?

(LeQueen, I'm sure it's Darrell Rivers, not Darryl...)

SarahStratton · 28/05/2011 10:53

Ahah, it is Joan, not June.

AllGoodNamesGone · 28/05/2011 11:10

Hope poor little Sally feels better soon. Appendicitis is the least of her worries, imho. I heard the poor mite was packed off to boarding school so her mother could devote all her time to the new baby Shock

She'll be a regular on the relationships board in years to come, you mark my words!

MrsHerculePoirot · 28/05/2011 11:19

Poor Sally. I heard she writes such funny little wooden letters to her mum. I hope she is better soon.

"funny little wooden letters"

Ariesgirl · 28/05/2011 11:26

But they do put on jolly good pantomimes I've heard. They even managed to get some proper ugly girls for the Ugly sisters. Twins! So realistic...

JoanofArgos · 28/05/2011 11:27

That said, when my daughter fell off those rocks, another child came and rescued her pretty quickly, and very level-headedly ran for equipment including cocoa, which was thoughtful.

It was beyond the pale when they let in the Cook's daughter. And her brother was a thief .
