to take a sickie, to let my children take a sickie and spend tomorrow under the duvet eating junk , watching cartoons and laughing?

We are all knackered. DD1 cried on the way home from ballet she is so knackered (she's 15!). DD2 is tetchy and knackered, I am unbelievably, utterly, exhausted.

I am sorely tempted to just not get up tomorrow.

Except DD1 would miss revision stuff (GCSEs), DD2 shouldn't be encouraged to skive and if I don't go to work they will be short staffed, my colleagues would have to work harder and the poor public would be neglected.

But I want to have a duvet day so very badly.

Added to the above, Tomorrow is the last day before half term and I have 10 days off too.

but I am very very tired.

If your DD is so tired she cried all the way home from ballet, maybe she shouldn't go to ballet, rather than miss school? Just a thought.

Thisisourtime & ThatllDoPig: when I see a sleep diairies like that I just can't imagine how hard that must be! Any ideas who your kids keep waking/kept waking?

thisisourtime · 28/05/2011 19:44

Mollyfloss. I have no idea.

We are at our wits end now and are starting with a sleep clinic on Monday.

Hence the sleep diary.

It's rather amusing really, as there's a section to fill in 'what we did' when they wake which we've put in "Patted tummy" "shushed" etc. I have omitted entries such as "necked large glass of wine" (evening waking) said "for fuck's sake go to sleep you demented child", "punched wall", "made sign of the cross over heart as retreated backwards away from cot" Grin

We have an older child who slept through solidly from 6 months so really, this is totally unchartered territory for us. But yes, it is unbelievably difficult, actually intolerable now Sad

Hence sleep clinic. Wish us luck!

Soon it will be better, hang in there, and keep going with the wine and biscuits for now.
Mine is a really good sleeper now, I honestly never believed I would say that, and I'm sure you will be in the same position very soon.
