I'm not defending ANYONE, far from it, however, how does "being in the
public eye" make a difference?

If everything you said or did was splashed all over mn for example, how would you feel?

And if Mr Giggs as his way he will be suing all of twitter that named it,but if he does that he will have to reveal who he is........... can't see that happening

taylor74 · 22/05/2011 14:54

Oh and funnyspelling there was a post on friday when as so called teacher enjoying gossiping about her pupil etc. Sadly took mn hours to pull it

NormanTebbit · 22/05/2011 14:57

I wasn't writing about Imogen Thomas. She's been treated shoddily by him. What about her freedom of speech?

yes he maybe a private person but that did not stop what he did with someone who was very fame hungry like Ms Thomas. He deserves what he get when this all comes out.

did the football focus interview

wannaBe · 22/05/2011 15:35

As I said I think it's awfully easy to sit there and say that he deserves all he gets when you're not famous and think you're not likely to be in a position where the same will happen to you.

Bu actually, I think that given the communication age we live in, it's a case of there but for the grace of god go any of us. Because while you might not be going to have an affair which might be tweet-worthy, none of us could hand on heart say that we will never do something that we wouldn't want to become public knowledge. And yet in this age it only takes for one person to tweet your private business, and if the twitter community find it interesting enough it could be public knowledge soon enough.

A different subject entirely but just look at Riven and the impact that tweeting about her had on her life, with press camped on her doorstep and pictures of her vulnerable dd all over the media.

We are none of us untouchable, and it doesn't have to be something immoral...

Peachy · 22/05/2011 15:40

Hmm, as someone who is aprtially benefit dependent due to being a carer there are parts of society who do seem to think my life should regularly scrutinised by some variant of the Poor Board

But

my personal huge issue is that the injunction-holder feels they can tell their ex whether or not she (or possibly he) can ever mention the relationship

What if they needed cunselling, wanted to chat to a mate as people do, etc etc etc

that just seems incredibly wrong to me and I suspect if I were ever in that position and child free i woudl continue as per normal (not including kiss & tell etc which I find distasteful anyway) and beggar the consequences! my life and if no crime committed then my choice.

ScousyFogarty · 22/05/2011 15:45

wannabe Top prem footballers live in MANSIONS that solves that problem were questions raised on football focus?

NormanTebbit · 22/05/2011 15:49

It's not about ..christ i nearly typed his name...lyin piggs, it's about the principle of the thing. so yeah, he got pricked by the devil and it's a bad business all round. But what if these superinjunctions become the norm? What else could they hide? Companies have already used them to hide dangerous practices, judges are trying to override parliamentary privilege. This is about our freedom of speech not about where the Welsh wonder puts his todger.

funnyspelling but why should somone be able to stop you or me or asny talking about their own sex life when its ture and happend to them can you imagin if you slept with somone then after you werer never alloed to speak of it

i think these kiss and tell girls are slappers to be fair but no one has the right to stop them talking about somthing thats ture which happend to them

i will be dammed if i will be going along with people being shut up like some tin pot republic who knows were it will end and what truths people will be stoped from saying next

maypole1 · 22/05/2011 16:00

if you don't want it to get round your a dirty stop out then don't sleep around

my mum used to tell me the best way not to get a reputation is to keep your hand on your ha'penny

the girls are awful but how can we live in a country were your not allowed to talk about somthing that is true and involed you

dear lord the world is mad

ScousyFogarty · 22/05/2011 16:07

maypole My wifes gran used to use the Keep your hand on your halfpenny saying. Is prem football a moral game? no, dont expect the players tobe moral They have kicked off?

maypole1 · 22/05/2011 16:57

no i don't think they should be some kind of nuns but if i or you sleep with someone i or you should be able to tell who we like and if the person who we slept with does not want anyone to know the answer is don't sleep with the person.

when i was younger their were always boys who would shout their mouth off if you did anything with them and still are even as an adult their are still men who are like that then you should avoid them at all costs if you don't want all on sundray to know the ins and outs of your sex life

if i am am saying something that's true and happened to me i nor anyone else should be made to shut up if their lying or it happened to someone else then fine but i and everyone have the right to talk about their own life.

like i said i find these girls slappers but they have a right to tell anyone they like they are slappers if they so wish

theirs and old saying if your not their people wont mention your name

i mean what do you expect sleeping with in most cases someone who's already know for kiss and tell or just sleeping with footballers

i will defend anyone's god given right to speak about their own lives and its outrageous to think a court could stop you doing so

funnyspelling · 22/05/2011 17:03

and the results are in!

Imogen Thomas 1- unnamed footballer 0
twitter 5-the press 1

Which just goes to show when you meet a man u should think about why an whether you digg em and then make damn sure they are a decent human being with enough respect humanity and class not to stab you in the back, talk about you blackmail you or try to gag you!

Love used to be so much easier in the past! All the stars used to get about but they just weren't dumb enough to talk about it!
