Smacking a 10 month old? AIBU?

Talking to another mum last week who told me that she had to discipline her 10 month old son for the first time recently. He wouldn't stop wriggling when having his nappy changed/being dressed, so she slapped him on the hand.

I was speechless!

AIBU to pretty bloody horrified?

YANBU, it's horrible, but then I think hitting children is wrong anyway.

YANBU and I am not a completely against smacking person.

10 months old is far to young. when DD is naughty she has to go to the wall face it with her hands up and stay there. 10 seconds normally but it has been known to be 15 e.g when she hits. she then comes over for a hug and a kiss.
