This is more of a 'Am I being Ridiculous?' I think!

They are 4.5 and 20 months.

'Bridge over Troubled Water' is their favourite album now Confused. They both absolutely love it, especially 'Cecilia' which is now known as 'the clap-bang song'.

But DD has picked up more of the lyrics than I thought she would Blush and now sings 'making love in the afternoon' at the top of her voice in the back of the car. Of course she has no idea what it means but should I stop putting the CD on before she starts to figure it out?! Also a tad concerned about the whores on 7th Avenue, although she hasn't started singing that one yet. (DH suggested changing it to the horse on 7th Avenue...).

Should I switch back to the nursery rhymes? It's such a great album...

For some unknown reason, my mum, who is extremely strait-laced and mildly homophobic, LOVED 'Walk on the Wild Side' when we were kids.... I'm not sure she ever really listened to the lyrics.... that or she was incredibly naive as well!

Fab chice of music loved it when I was a nipper. My mum would sing the harmony and I sang wars on 7th Ave. The little 'uns can really belt it out. Dont worry about the words to S&G, however don't get out the David Bowie...Especially "Time" (she flexes like a whore, falls wanking to the floor). There's no explaining that!

Ha ha apprenticemum!

Lovecat that's just reminded me that my dad's favourite song of all time used to be 'Lola' by the Kinks and he genuinely thought it was about an amazing woman. He was quite upset when we as teenagers gleefully pointed out that it was about a transvestite! I can't believe I'd forgotten that!

yes, I was always wondering about those wars too!
Have you heard that awful David Guetta song Sexy Chick? My 4 yo ds sings "Ooh, I'm a sexy sheep!"
