I want to but another pushchair my DH is not happy as DD is only 4.5 mths old.

We're first time parents and this is going to be our only child - we did not research (possibly the most important purchase) effectively. My parents bought us a stunningly beautiful Lebruss travel system - which is huge, impractical (i walk the dog 3 times a day and need something nippy) and cost a fortune. We were also given a Quinny Buzz 3 but this was quite old, the wheelbase was massive at the back so no good for shops - we have now passed this on to someone else.

When DD got to 3 mths we bought a stroller, it is much nippier and smaller so good for dog walking and shops but it is very lightweight. My mum is going to help with childcare, she can't get on with this and would prefer DGD to face her at least until she's toddling and thinks this one is too low, but agrees that the Lebruss they bought us is too big (she drives a teeny car and wouldn't be able to take it anywhere).

So I want to buy number 4 my husband thinks i've gone mad but i think there must be a good solution - small, nippy, rear facing lasts up to toddler age costs no more than £3-400 and will replace everything else.

AIBU? I really think I might be but need to resolve it. If i'm not (or even if i am) please can you make some recommendations, i really don't want to be buying number 5 in a few months!!

sell all of them and buy a jane slalom reverse. 3 wheels is good for dog walking and nippier round the shops. Rear facing too for grandma. Jane are really good pushchairs.

worraliberty · 19/05/2011 12:19

If your Mum's fussy about the one you bought, surely she should buy one that suits her? Confused

Flisspaps · 19/05/2011 12:20

YABU.

If your Mum wants a different buggy, why can't she get one herself to keep at her house? You've offered a perfectly good alternative - what if she 'doesn't get on' with #4?

faverolles · 19/05/2011 12:22

Why don't you sell the lebruss and the others and get something more practical that suits more situations?
I can sort of see your need for another, but seems daft to clutter yourselves up when, with a bit of thought you could find one which will suit you.

smoggii · 19/05/2011 12:23

Only because she bought the first one at huge expense and is really upset it didn't work out - not her fault. And she's going to come with me to get number 4

I've never heard of Jane pushchairs - I will research

And if you've already gone through 3 in four months, you're probably not giving yourself time to get used to them.

smoggii · 19/05/2011 12:25

We are probably going to sell the lebruss - not sure we'll get much but it'll go towards.

Sell them all and buy a Phil and Teds.

FabbyChic · 19/05/2011 12:25

What a total waste of money, why not sell the others first so that you have one that does everything.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 19/05/2011 12:29

sell them all, get a second hand Bee on ebay

MayDayChild · 19/05/2011 12:29

Either a maxi cosi loola (think they have merged or is it Bebe confort?) or a babystyle oyster

I have bee so would recommend that too 2nd hand tho in your budget

Dropdeadfred · 19/05/2011 12:31

i had about 7 pushchairs befor realising that the inglesina zippy was the one for me..loved it

MilkNoSugarPlease · 19/05/2011 12:32

Bugaboo bee or second hand bugaboo cam

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 19/05/2011 12:33

Not the loola. it's so heavy. i replaced mine with the bee

EricNorthmansMistress · 19/05/2011 12:35

There's a pram hun topic y'know.....

MistyB · 19/05/2011 12:36

Baby Jogger city mini - not rear facing though but in hind sight, this could have done the job for the entire baby to toddler years for me. You will easily sell the others on ebay to pay for it.

It's nippy, robust and lies flat.

smoggii · 19/05/2011 12:37

dropdeadfred i'm glad i'm not the only one Smile
fabbychic I agree we've wasted a lot of money between us but we were overwhelmed and sometimes it's not until you use something you realise what suits and hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I've read that the Bee doesn't last as baby gets bigger because it's so small and my baby is massive Shock

I second the Baby Jogger city mini - wished we'd bought this from the start...

Bugaboo Bee+

DS2 is a huge baby and is still very comfy in it.

kf1979 · 19/05/2011 13:28

Bee +.
The seat is slightly bigger than the older Bee models.

IFoundMyIdenticalHandTwin · 19/05/2011 13:42

We had a Bee and it was fab. I would go for the Bee + though.

letsblowthistacostand · 19/05/2011 13:58

Bee+

My (smallish) 5yo is quite comfortable in the seat (2yo DD2 is the main user, DD1 gets in sometimes before you get all up in my grill about a 5yo in a buggy)

Anyway, well worth the money, you'll never look at another pushchair again.
