Sounds ok to me - I drink about same a week - 2 bottles per week approx..
That breast cancer thing put me in a tizzy too and I keep contemplating alcohol free days... Wine .. cheers..

You have asked at the right time Polly - ask the same question at 10am and you'll get the "YABU to drink at all if you have DCs in the house" crowd! Grin

IKWYM though - I drink about that, maybe a little more (in that DH and I share a bottle of wine on Fri, Sat and Sun nights) and I do sometimes worry about the guidelines because clearly that's a bit more than 14 units, especially if I sneak in a quick pre-prandial gin and tonic on Saturday.

YANBU - It's the guideline amount but it is just a guide.

I am in the "You could get hit by a bus" crowd and say slightly hedonistically "life is for living"

Of course, if you're hungover and crossing the road near a bus-stop...

I was drinking 3 bottles a week and feeling pretty grim on that, also GP told me something was showing up on my liver function in blood tests and did I know why ...?! I've cut down to a bottle a week and the odd G&T and feel a bit better, very occasionally, like tonight, I manage an alcohol free night. I think your intake sounds fine, can't see a problem - suppose it is a good idea to not have a drink some days though.

I frequently contemplate having an alcohol free night, and then the thought of it makes me want a drink Grin Wine

I'm with you duckdodgers

Life needs the edge taking off it.

Unless that amount is impacting negatively on your life or the lives of your loved ones I would think that its very reasonable, I don't think YABU at all. Enjoy your wine, you sound very responsible :)

I am sold on the idea that it is very important to have at least two entirely alcohol free days per week. Cos I heard a liver specialist on R4 saying so!
