She's always annoyed me. I found her an attention-seeking, madonna-wannabe, irritating one-trick pony, BUT.... I turned to BBC3 this eve just as her concert started, found myself watching it and, er, I'm really impressed! She's don't all this jazz and piano stuff and is brilliant.

I feel slightly about this. Was I always wrong? Has she developed as an 'artist'?! Have I had one too many ?! What's going on??!!!

I like her. I like the wacky clothes and the makeup and the whole showmanship deal.

The music is crap not to my taste though.

evies. She sang live on the BBC accompanied only by a piano which she played herself. She showed herself to be an excellent singer when stripped of all the extras - I'm a Madonna fan but I doubt very much madonna could match Gaga's vocal performance, especially at the same age (or pre all the Pre-evita vocal lessons and probably even after). There's no way gaga could be classified as a third rate singer.

have you heard good singing? You know, Roy Orbison, KD Lang, Sarah Vaughan, etc?

That was not great singing I saw on BBC, but yes, agree Madonna isn't much cop as a singer either.

She's not a third rate singer, but she isn't a first rate one either. She writes for her voice and relies heavily on backing tracks and backing singers to do a full show.
