To think that trolling is funny?

I am new here so bare with me. So I am a member of another parenting site and tbh its only good when a shit stirrer comes on. Its so boring otherwise. I have lovely friends on the site but omg its dead unless a troll comes on. They all moan about the troll, start new threads up about the troll and people then joke and have a laugh on the trolls behalf iykwim. I can't help it but like the troll that starts something because its when all get together. Maybe I am talking shite here but thats how I see it.

Thank you for replies.

Was that ever actually proven, ILoveTIFFANY?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 07/05/2011 22:15

Thank you. Grin

rachie2011 · 07/05/2011 22:15

what is a troll?

SouthGoingZax · 07/05/2011 22:16

I was involved in the dizzymare thread under another username. I was pg with my DTs at the same time as she claimed to have lost her twin girls.
She was a troll.

RancerDoo · 07/05/2011 22:17

Sometimes, yes. Shortly after I joined MN a regular namechanged to claim that her hamster had drowned in her casserole, and to ask what she should do. It was a hilarious break from my post-natal haze. And I have no idea who EvansMr was but he was just my favourite.

But the "I've been raped, help me by telling me your stories of the same and send me money for my dying babies" type trolls. Not so amusing, really.

fearnelinen · 07/05/2011 22:17

Best. Troll. Ever.

Thingumy · 07/05/2011 22:18

Which one are you?

beesimo · 07/05/2011 22:21

I don't think people should be allowed to name change I think it is shan and devious, I have had quite a few rows on MN but thats ok as sometimes I have learnt a bit from them, especially the morning after pill row as I had completely got the wrong end of the stick about what it was.

However I despise the troll fakery on here sail under your own colours is my motto. I was genuinely upset about one thread regarding child neglect which turned out to be a load of cobblers but hey ho.

I am coming off in a minute as I rationing myself to 4 hours MN a week!

Disasterpiece · 07/05/2011 22:22

Muffinahuff I know where you have come from. That wasnt a proper troll. Just a regular with a new account pissing about.

Trolls on mumsnet can be horrific sometimes.

boilingpoint · 07/05/2011 22:23

beesimo i envy your strength!

AgentZigzag · 07/05/2011 22:24

But what will you do beesimo??

Don't be letting RL suck you back in again, it'll all end in tears

MavisEnderby · 07/05/2011 22:25

Sometimes it can be hilarious
sometimes cruel.

I SHOULD have seen through the melodrama, the story was in fact totally unbelievable.Thing was I had had a really bad day and much wine, yep, twas an idiot.but the troll trolled on a bereavement thread,I fell for it,to me this is a bit sick.(though i was being totally naive)

I am a bit of a gullible sod anyhows.Felt like a right twunt and then very farking angry.Ok on a silly random topic but bereavement, they are an arse or have a serious mental health issue

mummyplum · 07/05/2011 22:28

Oh. My. Goodness. Fearnelinen that has got to be the funniest thread I have ever read. :o

FoxyRevenger · 07/05/2011 22:31

"He doesn't even like cooking."

Genius

AgentZigzag · 07/05/2011 22:33

You're not gullible or an idiot and shouldn't have felt like a twunt when you found out Mavis, trolling a bereavement thread is something you don't want to even enter your head, that someone would get some kind of 'entertainment' from such a subject.

I can understand the funny troll threads, but to go so below the belt does make you wonder about the person.

GypsyMoth · 07/05/2011 22:35

is the utensil thread in classics??

beesimo · 07/05/2011 22:35

I am only allowing myself on it because Im home alone, when I was laid up afer my accident it became Mams dirty secret, DCs would pop their head round the door to see I was ok 'yes darlings Mams just doing a bit of mending' oh yeh You lot turned me into a deceitful devil how the mighty fell.

I even ended up looking at LK front bottom because of a thread on here but I will beat the compulsion 4 hours a week is quite enough so off I will go.

10.30 and not a pot washed!!!

BitOfFun · 07/05/2011 22:38

Shan. Now there's a word I haven't heard in a long time.

fearnelinen · 07/05/2011 22:50

I know, isn't it - that thread is all that is fab about MN imo! People (inc. me) genuinely rallying aroung this poor woman in the beginning! Genius!

muffinahuff · 07/05/2011 23:11

Thank you for all replies and sorry that some of you got sucked into the really nasty ones. I do not condone that at all.

Disasterpiece I am freaked out now, where do you think I have come from? Am I that obvious?
