Any of you seen this article: www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3565711/Mum-injects-her-girl-7-with-Botox.html

I kind of feel sorry for her, she obviously is desperate for her daughter to suceed in life. It's not illegal to inject your kids with botox, and it's only temporary. Is it so terrible?

In my world injecting toxin into your kid's face comes pretty firmly under child abuse.

ddubsgirl · 06/05/2011 13:58

wasnt there a case of a lady over here doing this to het girl few months back?to me its child abuse, how can a child know thats what she wants?no-one knows the long term effect botox has on anadult let alone a child.

SoFluffyImGonnaDie · 06/05/2011 14:01

There must be some lasting effects, she actually says:

"The fact I am giving her the chance to have these beauty treatments so early on will save her from wrinkles later on.

"It will also save her money on make-up and cosmetic procedures in the future."

So she is hoping there are long-term effects otherwise surely it would be pointless in her eyes

That poor little girl Sad

I don't feel sorry for the mother as such, but, I do wonder what sort of upbringing she had to make her think this is in anyway okay.

Plus where is the child's father in all this? Or the Grandparents? Why is no-one stopping her?

ddubsgirl · 06/05/2011 14:07

but they dont know what effect there are tho, what if its not the good effects she is hoping for?but time the kid is 30 she may look 80!childs skin is alot different to an adults and all this stuff is designed for a childs skin.

SoFluffyImGonnaDie · 06/05/2011 14:08

Exactly also she has tattooed eyebrows onto the girls face, I don't know about you but my face is a little bit bigger than when I was 7 she will look ridiculous by the time she is finished

ddubsgirl · 06/05/2011 14:25

lol yes very true!ekk poor kid!have never got the thing about tattooing eyebrows nor when they are plucked so they are so thin it looks stupid!

HalfTermHero · 06/05/2011 14:31

The mother is a fucking moron. I can't think of anything nicer than that to say about her, really Sad.

TandB · 06/05/2011 14:38

I don't feel remotely sorry for her.

I think she is a prize cow and the authorities should take action, even if it means getting a court order to prevent her damaging her child any further.

saffy85 · 06/05/2011 14:50

YABU the only person who deserves any sympathy is the little girl who is not only being pumped full of toxins for the sake of vanity but is growing up with a very fucked up way of thinking. Quite frankly I don't know what's more damaging long term.

As for wanting her little girl to be "the next Willow Smith" Hmm has it occurred to this thick bint of a mother that A, Willow is a huge star because of her parents who have bankrolled her success and given her a helluva of a leg up, and B, that she should encourage her DD to be successful in her own right, ie, not aspire to be the "next anyone" but to break the mould and be the first "whatever-her-name-is".

I think it is sad that this woman's world view is so warped that she thinks the only way her child will get on in life is by looking 'perfect' but not so sad that I feel sorry for her.

I feel very sorry for any child who is taught from a young age that their appearance is the only aspect of them that matters, as they will grow up to be either hugely demoralised and likely end up with ishoos about hoe they look, or to be massively vain and shallow and therefore miss out on a lot in life. This particular child I feel especially sorry for, as her mother is not only screwing with her world view and self esteem, but also physically altering her to suit some mythical, unachievable ideal. It is physical, emotional and psychological abuse as there is no way this girl will grow up to be anything other than a human Barbie and may well never develop properly, emotionally or socially if all she sees is her mother telling everyone who disagrees with her that they are 'just jealous'.
