Any of you seen this article: www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3565711/Mum-injects-her-girl-7-with-Botox.html

I kind of feel sorry for her, she obviously is desperate for her daughter to suceed in life. It's not illegal to inject your kids with botox, and it's only temporary. Is it so terrible?

Are there side effects/dangers to injecting stuff into a childs face?

youngmummyb · 06/05/2011 11:53

I think i read this or an article like this in a magazine.
I mean everybody has different opinions, but i definitely would not say i feel sorry for her. I think it's pretty disgusting, the child is so young and obviously has no choice in the matter, and it wouldn't make a difference if she did as she's been taught this is "normal" bye her own mother.
There's nothing wrong with wanting your child to succeed, but this is the totally wrong way to go about it. If you want your child to succeed provide it with the best education you possibly can, instead of wasting money injecting botox into your seven year old!
Also, she's buying these botox and fillers online, and she has absolutely no idea what is in them, yet she's injecting them into her child!

VERY wrong in my opinion.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 06/05/2011 11:54

Bloody hell, if it is true, the world has gone mad.
My friends DD had botulism toxin injected into her leg in an effort to control some spacticity.
Medical need for a child yes, cosmetic, the child should be removed from the care of her mother.

SoFluffyImGonnaDie · 06/05/2011 11:55

I also read this in a magazine and she made me really angry so yes YABU to feel sorry for her. I feel sorry for the child having poison injected into her face for non-existent wrinkles.

EightiesChick · 06/05/2011 11:55

No. I feel sorry for her daughter.

EightiesChick · 06/05/2011 11:56

No as in no, I don't feel sorry for her, I feel sorry for her daughter.

DamselInDisguise · 06/05/2011 12:01

It's definitely illegal to tattoo on your child's eyebrows, even if the law hasn't anything to say about botox and fillers.

The eyebrows look dreadful too. Poor, poor kid.

SoFluffyImGonnaDie · 06/05/2011 12:03

I think the article said something about her living in California meant the rules are not the same as here with regards to her breaking the law. Would it come under the same section as ear piercing?

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 06/05/2011 12:07

on what basis would you feel SORRY for this stupid stupid woman? i feel sorry for the poor kid.

DamselInDisguise · 06/05/2011 12:08

It's illegal to tattoo minors in California too.

EldritchCleavage · 06/05/2011 12:11

I know what you mean, but I just feel exasperated when I read these things.

What a cackhanded, dim way to go about trying to give your child better opportunities. What about saving up the Botox money for education or vocational training? Or are the mother's aspirations all about her daughter's appearance, and nothing more?

And I don't think that's all that's going on either-on some level, the daughter is her doll or prop, used to garner the mother some attention.

SoFluffyImGonnaDie · 06/05/2011 12:11

I stand corrected, maybe it was the bit about the botox and fillers. In that case surely she is now being investigated by the Californian equivalent of SS particularly as she plans to tattoo lipliner on her as her next project

Bloodymary · 06/05/2011 12:17

Those eyebrows are WRONG.
I feel sorry for the small child.

cuteboots · 06/05/2011 12:24

isnt this child abuse? Some people are just a worry and shouldnt have kids! Grrr makes me so angry!!

WhereYouLeftIt · 06/05/2011 12:59

She orders the botox and fillers off the internet - wasn't there a TV programme on recently that showed that what comes through the post from these suppliers is of questionable quality, and sometimes downright dangerous? And she's injecting her 7-year-old with it?

As for comparing her looks with Willow Smith, and thinking all this will make her daughter look just as good - given Willows parentage (Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith) of course she looks amazing!

Poor, poor child.

SoFluffyImGonnaDie · 06/05/2011 13:11

It says that she tests it on herself first to make sure it is ok for use Hmm

Also even if Willow Smith wasn't pretty she would still have the leg up from her parents which is clearly what Will & Jada have done, used their fame to help their daughter's career. Same with the son who was in Karate Kid recently. She was not some random child who entered pageants and because of her flawless skin (which most 7 year olds have to be fair) got noticed by a talent scout. This woman is delusional seriously

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/05/2011 13:26

This is seriously crazy.
a 7 year old little girl?! being tattooed and injected is surely child abuse regardless of intent??

springbokdoc · 06/05/2011 13:34

Because wrinkles are something seven year olds have. Oh and of a course a neurotoxin bought over the internet is bound to be exactly what it should be, uncontaminated and safe. Poor poor child - I felt especially bad when she said that some of the other kids who said it was wrong were just jealous. No, their mums have just taught them that they love them no matter what and it doesn't matter what you look like. The 'mum' should be ashamed of herself.

BarbarianMum · 06/05/2011 13:35

I'm sorry she has such a f*** up view of the world but I feel a lot sorrier for her daughter.

Imagine being a 7 year old who knows her mummy doesn't find her beautiful enough Sad

donnie · 06/05/2011 13:38

I don't feel sorry for her at all. She is abusing her child. It is child cruelty.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 06/05/2011 13:40

It's very sad. It's a parent's job to love their child unconditionally, and think they're beautiful and make them secure.

I don't understand why anybody would botox a child, it's poison and a person should make the decision for themselves. In addition to the stupidity of the mother, what about the salon practitioner who actually did inject the botox? Both mother and practitioner should be sanctioned in my view.

SoFluffyImGonnaDie · 06/05/2011 13:46

She approached a number of doctors who refused to inject it but told her it wasn't illegal for her to do it herself. So seeing as she had done a 12 week beauty course she felt able to inject her child with poison...in the face...ever 2 months Hmm

SoFluffyImGonnaDie · 06/05/2011 13:46
