To think that horse owners as well as dog owners should have to take their animals poo home with them?

I live in a suburban, residential estate. Recently a woman has started riding her horse through the housing estate. Consequently big piles of horse poo are left on the road. Everyone locally takes their dog poo away so aibu in thinking she should have to collect the horse poo? (obviously would not be safe to get off horse and bag it up but horses with carriages have poo bag arrangements tucked under their tails that she could try)

Horse poo is dangerous to human health if it's in the road and you're on a bicycle or motorbike.
Every other road user can be prosecuted for dropping stuff onto the road surface - including, in theory if rarely in practise, farmers dropping loads of mud off their tractors - but apparently horse owners are above that particular law.

yanbu - I have said this to dh several times recently.
Here they leave it all along the cycletrack accross the width of the path. SO you have to either try and lift the buggy over or wheel it through. I take the buggy into the house and I really don't want shit of whatever kind wheeled into the house.
Oh and they also do leave it spread all over the pavement so you have to walk into the (busy) road to get past.
It really pisses me off. In the countryside maybe you can get away with it but I'm not in the countryside.

The logistics of collecting horse poo are just ridiculous.
Are you really suggesting she rides a horse with a bag of poo dangling round its nethers?
Perhaps she should dismount and collect it and store it in some kind of saddlebag?
Should she carry a shovel or just pick it up with her bare hands?
Horse poo is non toxic and pretty useful. It does not carry zoonotic disease. Horses have a right to be on the road and sometimes they poo. Cars sometimes drip oil, should we make people pull up on the side of the motorway and scrub the road?
Don't exaggerate dear, she's not riding up and down 50 times a day leading 100 Thelwell ponies and feeding them from nosebags ffs.

What will she do with the horse, Bogeyface? Whilst she is picking up the poo?
Will she carry a leadrope along with the shovel so she can tie him up? How would your suburban, residential estate deal with a horse tied to your gatepost and your garden walls used as mounting blocks?
That's assuming the horse is happy enough in traffic to be trusted being left. Aside from the complete pavement block a horse stood at the side of the road would create, imagine the attention from local kids etc.
I can imagine many situations - ripped up fence posts, loose horse in traffic, complaints from residents, blocked access, kicked children who do not understand how to approach a horse or what the ribbon means, horse swivelling round the post and destroying prize roses in the garden, not to mention the rider being knocked down by crouching in the road.
That's why. Generally.

I think that's a great idea. While we're at it, let's make all road users bag up their emissions and take them with them. Afer all, petrol and diesel fumes are much more toxic than horse poo.
Can't wait to see all the cars on your estate with little bags over their exhaust pipes
