AIBU?
YSL Touche Eclat is rubbish

I've heard all this stuff about how apparently it's the wonder-product etc.
Well. Tried it today in John Lewis and did not think much of it at all. Didn't do a massive amount for my insomnia-induced dark circles, and was not noticeably better that Benefit erase a paste (also not brilliant) and the No 7 one (probably the best of the 3).
Has anyone found this? How did it get such a great reputation?

Because it's comparatively expensive so magazines extol the virtues and advertisers keep supplying the money to run said magazines?
Or does it have a good word-of-mouth rep? I wouldn't know. Style and Beauty scares me I don't buy magazines.
I thought it was okay about seven years ago when I last bought some. I'm glad to hear that No 7 is better though

No 7 one is 15 quid, and I did think it was best of the 3, but still not a miracle worker. Touche Eclat was 25 quid, which I thought a bit much. I have heard a bit from word of mouth, but I guess mostly magazines. Damn those clever marketing people

Touche Eclat is awful, I tried it after it was raved about on here a few years ago. It made no difference to my eyes apart from make them look caked in make up.
I was recently told to try Dior Skin Flash (dotted under the eyes and then just below the eyebrows). It is amazing, my eyes never looked so awake and fresh, I've been wearing it for a week now and have had so many compliments.
I insist you must all try it!

It has no effect except in photos when its effect is to make you look horrifying.
Ditto:
Any Nars bronzer which is more expensive yet with inferior exfoliating qualities to rubbing your face on a crumbly brick wall;
Benefit High Beam that effortlessly mimics the effect of spending a day or so floating dead under water;
Benefit Bee Sting that doesn't plump your lips but gives them the attractive colour of Elastoplast;
In fact to save time be aware that all Benefit products are overpriced, prettily retro-packaged shit;
All MAC mascaras are smudgy shit. Their foundations are like daubing your face with chalk mixed with varying amounts of mud. Their lipsticks don't last beyond the first drink. I like their eyeshadows though.
