to be a little irritated that I have not heard from DH for a week

DH went off on a week's adventure holiday last Sunday. I am quite happy about that, in fact I encouraged him to go, as he has been working very hard lately and needed a break. However, although I know that for part of the week he will have been without a mobile phone signal, I also know that for the rest of the time he will have been near enough to civilisation to enable some form of communication. He is due back at some point today - I don't know when exactly. I have texted him several times, but no reply as yet.
AIBU to be a bit annoyed at the lack of contact? He took two chargers for his phone btw.
OK, I know I am probably AIBU, but wanted to vent here so I don't go all sulky on him when he finally turns up with a broad smile and a large sack of dirty laundry.

He may not have any reception.. When my DH goes to Scotland there is so little reception on the whole island you can only send a text if you lean out of one window of the hotel(I've been there so I know it's true). I know I could get in touch in an emergency so don't bother otherwise. He does generally text me from the airport on the way home though.

An invented lover, Xenia? Can't I have a real one?

OK, well the good news is I know he was fine last night, as I logged on to his email to get hold of his itinerary and there was an email from another member of the group with the subject line "Great party last night" or some such. So I'm assuming all is well. Perhaps he is too hungover to text. Grin

No, sorry. It has to be invented or just him worried. Saying something like - wow that was lovely, a whole week without you around, I felt so free and then hinting at what you got up to so he starts to worry or that might be too subtle for some men I suppose.

Themumsnot · 01/05/2011 15:32

I could put a pair of strange boxers in the washing machine for him to find when he does his laundry. Grin

OK - apologies are required. I have just had four texts at once, all obviously sent at different times during the week. So I might not show him this thread after all. Grin
Goes off to remove boxers from washing machine.

Ah reminds me of the famous voicemail or emails from a woman whose boyfriend has not been in touch, starting with not heard from you and ending up with - right you clearly don't love me the relationship is over... I think it's on youtube. In fact it was just that he was abroad and his phone off for 2 weeks. it's very funny the conclusions she jumped to.

Damn

Glad he's not an inconsiderate arse after all Wink Now you can go and fish out the candles and posh welcoming undies dinner :o

I love this thread.

Mumsnot - you got a load of advice saying BASTARD, but you thought this was completely out of character and so you would give the benefit of the doubt. Then Xenia rocks up and says make him think you didn't give a shit anyway and have had an affair.

Then you realise he has text you anyway.

or OR it's a double bluff, he has realised you would be pissed off, and has just sent you 4 texts making out they were sent during the week, when he has really just text them all within 2 minutes over a pint.

Get the boxers back on the bed Grin

Aw bless him, he is back. He is tired and foot sore and I have forgiven him everything. Off to bed now. The boxers are hidden under the bed until further notice. Grin
