neighbours doing my head in - do I go round or chill out?

They have been partying since lunch time and playing music (through an amp) at full blast. I know it's a party, and don't want to be a pain in the arse, but my kids can't sleep because the music is so loud and it is driving me nuts. What time is it reasonable to go round and ask them to turn it down??

Grin Grin Grin

Well after a weekend of absolute hell with my noisy own neighbours, I've just heard the reason is that the current noisy bitches are closing the pub down for good, due to not making money, recession etc & are leaving town for good too Grin ...I hate to be uncharitable - but thats what I call Karma :)

its probably going to be bad tonight & tomorrow too, as they are intending going out with a bang, ut then thats it :)

magaddict I hope you & your finally got some rest last night & your neighbours are behaving tonight

& baby Fimbo said it all before me.......having one party a year & letting your neighbours know etc, is all well & good, & most of us - myself included will happily turn a blind ear, given notice to shuffle sleeping arrangements around, but its very inconsiderate to think 10 hrs plus & right through the night without turning it down a notch or 2 is okay - its not - its plain PIG IGNORANT

Good news Rockin...Karma is indeed a bitch Grin

Good news Rockin. Your situation has been horrible.

I know that sort of stuff is annoying. And I swear that I am the most considerate neighbour in the world because I'm so easily irritated myself. But I just thought it was unreasonable to expect the music to be turned down at five to ten on a Saturday night in the middle of a bank holiday weekend.

'But I just thought it was unreasonable to expect the music to be turned down at five to ten on a Saturday night in the middle of a bank holiday weekend.'

Why? It's not a pub or nightclub. Believe it or not, plenty of people have to work on bank holiday weekends. Why does one person feel they have a right to thud loud music all night or till the early hours of the morning that trumps everyone's right to not be subjected to it all around them?

If its just once off - maybe let it go..if its regular then I would complain

Fimbo · 02/05/2011 11:02

Good news Rock, at least you know the end is in sight now.

Yay for rock! :)

I saw an episode of 'Night Cops' last month featuring a woman who thought it was fine to party all night in her terraced house, with loud music of course, because it was her birthday.

The environmental wardens came out twice, then her mates got aggro about who'd reported them, after all, she was entitled to party all night with thumping bass because it was her birthday.

Until there comes a point where there is an on the spot, very high fine for doing this, this is how people think. 'Oh, it's once a year, I have the right,' instead of, 'I'd like to party and be loud, think I'll go to a superpub or club.'
