May I join you? I got just a smidge of genuine rage earlier that it wasn't meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

MmaIvvy · 29/04/2011 21:30

lol, at least you're not her sister - not that I know how she feels obviously but I often feel the 'reject' daughter just for not having a Masters degree - how on earth do you follow your sister marrying a Prince?!

HalfPastWine · 29/04/2011 21:31

"Calm Down Dear" :)

YANBU, she is a lucky girl, what a wonderful day. Not sure I'd like her lifestyle going forward though. She's coming from a life where she experienced freedom to one where she will face a lot of restrictions.

pickyourbrain · 29/04/2011 21:34

Oh I don't know. Listening to them talk earlier about hw she'll probably do charity work, some touring, a bit of charity work, have a couple of children, do some charity work... blah blah blah... I would sell both my children to be her Grin

Well, you're not, so get over it.

So many people go through life saying 'What if' & 'I wish. Life's too short. Make the most of what you have.

icooksocks · 29/04/2011 21:36

A small part of me was a little jealous-she's only a couple of years older than me Blush. I feel for Pippa though-imagining having to follow in those footsteps.
I agree with HalfPastWine-I don't envy the restrictions she will now have to face, it's no easy life from here on in.

HalfPastWine · 29/04/2011 21:36

It won't be long before the press are ripping her to shreds when she has one of her off days. I hope they back off and let them live for a while. We don't really have to know what outfit she's wearing every day!!!

imagine-not imagining.
My typing is awful tonight.

WinkyWinkola · 29/04/2011 21:43

Yabu. Really? All those people staring at you ALL the time? It would give me bad dreams.

pickyourbrain · 29/04/2011 21:44

For a life of security and being able to do charitable work as was my want and still live the life of a rich, yes.

FessaEst · 29/04/2011 21:46

Gosh, I am sooo glad not to be her. There are a lot of cons to outweigh the pros. I'm glad the day went so well for her though.

lucykate · 29/04/2011 21:47

there's always harry Wink

FunnysInTheGarden · 29/04/2011 21:48

I am 12 years too old but also thought how fab it would be to be her for the day. Lucky girl. And she looked beautiful.

Makeminealarge · 29/04/2011 21:52

oooh id love her wedding day WITHOUT the glare and scrutiny of the entire world!! just the dress, the prince, the carriage, the choir, the abbey etc etc etc etc

peppapighastakenovermylife · 29/04/2011 21:52

You really think she will just be able to go out and do the charitable work she chooses? In fact do anything she chooses? I seriously doubt her life will be as idyllic as it appears today.

Cameras will follow her every move. She will not be able to do what she wants. Forget the interfering mother in law, her children and how they are brought up will be dictated to her. She will never be able to pop to the shops properly or go out and get drunk.

She will not be able to follow any career ambitions.

Lovely day (if you like getting scrutinised) but lovely life? I wouldnt swap with her for anything.

However, I would so have Harry Wink

cruelladepoppins · 29/04/2011 21:54

YABaBitU.

I am pleased for her she (hopefully) has a well-adjusted relationship, she will want for nothing materially, but I wouldn't say I am "gutted" not to be her. I don't fancy the goldfish bowl myself. Or all that angst about who curtseys to who(m). [csmile]

breathing · 29/04/2011 21:56

Really, do the cameras follow these people everywhere? Ive never really seen any stuff recently on any of the rest of the royal family. No sophie in tesco, no princess Anne hoiking up her nickers on a walk, nothing.

peppapighastakenovermylife · 29/04/2011 22:05

That's probably because no one really cares...the nation 'loves' kate at the moment and she would sell papers.

You only need to look at Princess Diana really...

breathing · 29/04/2011 22:06

Princess Diana courted the media though. It was symbiotic.

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 29/04/2011 22:10

I certainly wouldn't stand in your way... no thank you very bloody much. No matter how crap my life is, it's MY life, not a life run by outdated rules and restrictions, no more Christmas with your own family, being told what to wear, say, do, think....all lived in the eye of the world...

breathing · 29/04/2011 22:11

I quite like the idea of avoiding the family xmas Grin

Ishani · 29/04/2011 22:12

Anyone else thinking of shoving their DC's up the social climbing ladder so we can be in Carole Middletons shoes in 20 years time Grin
I have one who'd be perfect for Edward's son, so Royal but not too Royal iyswim.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 29/04/2011 22:12

OMG do you really want her life? Shock. I mean, stupid as it sounds, I like going to get a fish supper, I like popping to Tescos for milk I've forgotten. I like going to work, even if I hate it.

I wish them every happiness but no f-ing way would I want to be them. All the money is not worth your freedom.

niceday · 29/04/2011 22:14

I doubt she will have freedom to even name her children!
