I think you might be surprised how much freedom she has in things. Im sure she will name her kids etc. Its not the dark ages after all.

niceday · 29/04/2011 22:16

Breathing - your family Xmas:), you will always have to be at IL!

breathing · 29/04/2011 22:17

I am now niceday

niceday · 29/04/2011 22:18

Well, of course she'll have a say in naming them... She'll have her right to pick one of three options given to her

Bohica · 29/04/2011 22:22

I think she will use her own mind & suprise us all Smile

HalfPastWine · 29/04/2011 22:24

My dd was moaning earlier that "Now I'll never be a princess, Mummy. I'll have to be a villager for always".

Mind, she is 5, OP. What's your excuse? Grin

Ripeberry · 29/04/2011 22:40

She is lucky to have found her soul mate. You can see that they love each other. But she has married into the 'institution' and her every move will be examined in minute detail.
A 'gilded cage' if there ever was one. I prefer my freedom, even if I'm poor in comparison Grin

ReindeerBollocks · 29/04/2011 22:49

Good luck to them and I wish them all the best.

But it made me really happy today - knowing I'd met the man I'd fallen in love with, and been luckily enough to marry. I wouldn't want to swap my DH for a prince (not even Harry Grin ).

pickyourbrain · 30/04/2011 09:27

Ooh this is very good news that most of you disagree - less competition for Harry :)

Now, I'm sure I read somewhere that he has a penchant for older women with stretchmarks and a child by someone else... Grin

I am with the crowd who wouldn't take kates life for anything.

For sure they look very happy and she appears to very much have her own mind and he seems to support her in that. So things may not be all that bad.

But nothing would persuade me to marry into the Royal family and al that goes along with it. Even if I wasn't already married to a man who, with my sons, is my whole world.

DontGoCurly · 30/04/2011 09:57

Yabu

If you were KM you'd have to marry William.

William is 'nice' but not sexy. He's got those comedy Toff teeth. Toffs are not sexy. Therefore Kate is doomed to a life of being shagged by an unsexy man with unsexy hair and unsexy voice.

You are being very unsexy unreasonable [cgrin]

onehotmomma · 30/04/2011 09:57

Yes I was a tad bit envious as I have always fancied william from a young age and he is only a day older then me lol BUT I couldn't give up my life the way she has to. No amount of money would make me marry a royal

gkys · 30/04/2011 09:59

have been playing it should have been me for the past 24hrs Grin

Butterpiecrimearea · 30/04/2011 10:03

I hated my wedding day for all the attention on me and the embarrassing times people tried to make me do traditional stuff, and mine was a really low key wedding. So, no...

onceamai · 30/04/2011 10:36

YABU - turn the clock back and I was almost exactly the same age as Diana - and look what happened to her. OTH on the phone to my mum last night I said how beautiful I though Kate had looked and she turned round and said "not as beautiful as you on your wedding day" Shock. Still getting over that one.

chrisonabike · 30/04/2011 10:39

"you are being very unsexy" has just made me roffle DontGoCurly Grin

cupofteaplease · 30/04/2011 10:59

My mum genuinely became tetchy with me yesterday afternoon at our street party. As I am the same age as William, she said she was disappointed that I went to Birmingham uni instead of St Andrews or 'It could have been you up there today'. She was actually being serious Shock I sort of gestured towards my dh and dc and suggested that I am actually happy that it wasn't me!
