Even though she has made a tit of herself and tried to exploit her royal connections, she is still mother to Beatrice and Eugenie and surely has a lot more right to be at the wedding that at least some of the 1,900 guests that got an invite to on or other of the 3 parts of the event...

Yes - she should have been there! It's not right that she is shut out like this and not nice for her girls. It must hurt them.

Skifit · 29/04/2011 20:06

I agree Fergie should have been invited.
She is Prince Williams' Aunt, and Beatrice and Eugenie are his cousins, so their mother should have been there.

He isnt his aunt..see above

chocadoodle · 29/04/2011 20:12

She isn't his Aunt any more. She's his Uncle's ex-wife.

Also her girls are not children, they are women in their 20's and more than capable of attending a wedding without their mother. Their father and father's family were all there so there should be no need for their mother to attend.

hocuspontas · 29/04/2011 20:14

But as said earlier - Mark Phillips wasn't invited and he's Peter's and Zara's father.
Unless she and William stayed in touch I wouldn't think she would have expected an invite.

suzikettles · 29/04/2011 20:15

Depends on lots of things.

I invited my "ex" aunt to my wedding (there's nothing ex about her as far as I'm concerned). My uncle is dead though so there was no conflict. I didn't invite his second wife as I don't know her.

I invited my other uncle and his second wife, and would have invited my aunt (his first wife who I hadn't seen for well over a decade but I have fond childhood memories of), but they really, really, don't get on and he wouldn't have come if she'd been invited.

I don't have any embarrassing rellies though. I do think that was probably the reason. Or some shitey protocol thing.

I think it's the fact that she is ostracised that's not very nice. Yes, she sinned by having an affair in the 80s but that is irrelevent now. She's the mother of Beatrice and Eugenie - both of whom look uncomfortable in their own skin to me, and it would be nice if their mother was there with them.

As the Archbishop said - it's mutual forgiveness that helps people thrive

Apparently she hasn't seen the boys for years, and she is a twat.

Why on earth would you invite your embarrassing uncle's e- wife (whom you haven't seen for years) to your wedding?

Lizzywishes · 29/04/2011 22:24

Ex-wife, I mean.

NotaMopsa · 29/04/2011 22:25

i think she should have

KurriKurri · 29/04/2011 22:26

I think the spirit of Fergie was channelled through her daughters outfits.
