To bin or freecycle this gift to my DDs

My lovely sister has 2 DDs who're a bit older than my 6 and 3 year ld and she often passses down clothes etc.

Last week she turned up with a MASSIVE wicker hamper full to the brim of BRATZ and accesories....loads of the horrible things.

Naturally the DDs fell upon them as though they were the crown jewels and I thanked my sis eventhough inside I was screaming NOOOOOOOOOO!

I hate them...the ugly things.....and now the older DD has decided they are ALL HERS and she preens them and pets them for ages....refusing to let little DD have a go.

They're ugly and hideous and causing rows...what do I do? Give them back?Freecycle? Ebay or bin....there are so many of them they're unpostable.

Urghh, Bratz. I'm quite laid back generally but would have to draw the line at Bratz. Cindies, Barbies, toy guns, plastic knives etc all OK.

But there is something about Bratz that is beyond the beyonds!

YANBU.

Generally I usually think you should freecycle what you can but in this case I think the evil should not be perpetuated and you should build yourself a nice Easter bonfire.

Although I think you needed to make this decision before you let the DDs at them - perhaps it is now too late to do this without being unfair.

If you let them play with them they will tire of them/lose them/break them quite soon.If you take them away they will covet them and dd1 may be quite sad about it-they are ugly but so were the 'trolls' and 'smurfs' my dc had.

YANBU to hate Bratz- they're awful and I'm dreading my 3 year old discovering the bloody things.

Is it just dolls or clothes too? Could you sort through it and let them keep some of them and bin the stuff that is truly vile/unsuitable?

I've done this with stuff DP's aunt has bought DD. Out went the make up set (DD wasnt even 2 and the list of ingredients was written in a different unidentified language), Ugg boots, plastic skipping rope and several dresses that were truly vile and kept was the cabbage patch doll, cheapo plastic jewellery and garish hair accessories.

Saffy it's clothes and shoes, bits of furniture, an escalator Hmm and suitcases for them. I have given each child 4 dolls...and some clothes....they know that their dolls are theirs and no arguing has happened.

I am going to ask my Mum to offer the rest to a little girl who lives near her...well..to her Mum obviously. If they dont want them then my Mum will take it all to Charity bar the 8 my DDs are keeping.
