Ds2 has inherited the right attitude without me having to teach him. He corrects anyone calling lunch dinner. He recoils at the word dessert and visibly shudders at 'afters'. I think his is channeling his maternal great - grandmother.

My Mum calls lunch dinner...

I would be very embarrassed if any of my DC recoiled at her using the word in the 'wrong' way.

You have your breakfast in the morning, dinner in the afternoon, and tea in front of the telly at about 5pm. Supper is a biscuit or toast with some milk.Smile

Tea is something you drink. Dinner is something you eat. I very rarely eat dinner til 8pm, after I've done my sporting activities, though I don't rule out the possibility of having an early dinner.

breakfast, lunch and dinner. The DC have tea at 5pm ish. Supper rarely and only if after 10pm
