Really. Would you like to eat a sandwhich in the toliet?

Nah, don't fancy it either. Why should a baby or their mum be ashamed of a baby eating their lunch in public?

Really. Boobs may be sexualised objects, but first and foremost they are there and have been specially created to feed your baby the perfect combination of nutrients.

Why should someone be ashamed at making the best choice for their baby. This is after a funny debate me and boyfriend had when discussing the bbc3 program, he said he felt uncomfortable when someone whips them out next to him as he is programmed to be attracted to boobs. Not denying this, but I told him first and foremost he better get over this quick as if I have kids and am healthy, I will most likely not want to go into hiding over such a natural process.

Before anyone flames me:

I am not attacking people who bottle feed. If this is what works for you and your baby and you are happy and healthy, fair enough.

who said anyone has to feed their baby in a toilet?

DioneTheDiabolist · 14/04/2011 23:20

BF mothers don't whip them out. The programme showed that BF is done discretely with most people not noticing or not caring.

No mother should be forced to feed her child in a toilet.

MrsTerryPratchett · 14/04/2011 23:20

I have used some lovely nursing rooms recently, no toilets.

bananasinpjamas · 14/04/2011 23:21

Exactly, whats the big deal!

bananasinpjamas · 14/04/2011 23:22

Forgot to say, I;m not going to force anyone at gunpoint to feed in the middle of a packed stadium either, and if going off on your own somewhere private works for you, then also fair enough :)

At last. The voice of originality, thank God. Can't wait to see the replies to this.

bananasinpjamas · 14/04/2011 23:24

Ahahahaha, einstein1, my pleasure. Me neither, I'm bored and harmlessly trolling and may even initiate a nice healthy debate :)

I know this isn't what the thread's about, but I once went into the loos at work and one of the bins (in a cubicle, not the sink area) was full of fish and chip wrapping! So, presumably some people would eat a sandwich in a toilet.

bananasinpjamas · 14/04/2011 23:25

Bumpys

PaisleyLeaf · 14/04/2011 23:26

We had our cesspool emptied the other day. And (this is true) the man ate a sandwich while he was doing it.
I know. EEEWWWW!

(Sorry I know that's not really contributing to the whole feeding debate we've got going at the moment).

PaisleyLeaf · 14/04/2011 23:27

Bumpys?
Do you mean breasts? Or are you bumping the thread 1 minute after your last post.
Confused

i work in a pub and once found a half eaten sandwich in the bin in the gents, which have a very pungent smell. I cant understand who thought that would be nice...

I know slightly off topic, but it is relevent to the post title...

Do you live in Wythenshawe?

Are you on benefits?

Are you a single mum of five?

Do you own a pink mobile phone?

Do you always say "see you lata"

Do you watch the Jeremy Vile show?

Do you smoke 30 Silk Cut a day?

cunexttuesonline · 14/04/2011 23:47

No i don't live in wythenshawe, nor do I know where that is!

Does the £80/month child benefit count?

Mum of 1

Yes have a pink mobile.

Sometimes say 'see you later'

Yes I watch Jeremy Kyle if I get the chance

No, sadly I have given up smoking.

That little quiz was fun.

BertieBotts · 14/04/2011 23:48

I've eaten on the toilet before. It's weird. You can't help but feel the two activities at the same time are sort of counterproductive.

BertieBotts · 14/04/2011 23:49

(Do I get a quiz too? :))

Birdsgottafly · 14/04/2011 23:49

The new Equality Bill gives women the right to breast feed in public, you cannot be asked not to, if you sre being discreet. There maybe people with negative attitudes towards breastfeeding but don't blame them for you changing your behaviour and hiding away. This is something that has to be challenged by those breastfeeding and their DP's, friends and family. It cannot be completly changed otherwise.

A breastfeeding mum's 'shame' is something only she can work on. As can her not feeding because she is making others feel uncomfortable. You have to grow a very thick skin as a parent, so might as well start straight away. However, a campaign for more facilities is needed in some places.

Never. Judging by your previous, ah hem, contributions, we'd never have guessed.

Nope. It would be unfair to challenge you that way. Oh, go on then, your name is??
