5.63 was fixed for 5 years 3 years ago - wish we hadnt fixed it

onlion · 11/04/2011 18:42

I dont know. I pay the mortgage from my pay too. I have never checked. I just know its an extremely low monthly amout so Im ok with it.

CrispyTheCrisp · 11/04/2011 18:42

5.2% for 10 years. Finishes 2020

Gemsy83 · 11/04/2011 18:43

Same as mycatoscar- but back in the day you dont know how its going to go, so fixed rate is a gamble, could pay off, could end up paying through the nose (which we are doing the latter now!)

Crawling · 11/04/2011 18:44

6.9% bought during recession but have been offerd 3% when my mortgage is up at the end of the month.

diabolo · 11/04/2011 18:44

4.99% fixed a couple of years ago, for the next 8 years. We've always done fixed rate as I like to know exactly what I'm paying every month.

I know we are paying over the odds now, but god help people with variable rates when the interest rate goes up (which it will have to at some point soon).

NinkyNonker · 11/04/2011 18:45

Our house is about 3.5%, on a tracker.

The flat is about the same, but on SVR, was fixed on 5.89% which ran out a yr ago I think.

Malificence · 11/04/2011 18:46

2.50 % - Nationwide's variable rate which is 2% above base rate.
We were stuck with 4.5% for a couple of years on a fixed rate until it ended last summer, I'm very wary of fixing again but rates have got to go up at some point.

heymammy · 11/04/2011 18:47

2.5% tracker fixed until Mar 12.

3 years ago we v nearly fixed for 10 years at 5.75%

Fayrazzled · 11/04/2011 18:49

5.29% fixed for 5 years, 3 years ago (just months before interest rates plummeted).

rosie1979 · 11/04/2011 18:49

think it is 3.5 above the base rate. We were on a horrific 6.9 before this though, so this feels great!

clayre · 11/04/2011 18:52

No idea Blush but it is fixed for 5 years and that ends this in October and then I have no idea what happens!

iskra · 11/04/2011 18:56

3.7% fixed for 2 years. We wanted to be able to budget each month.

Runningjustasfastasican · 11/04/2011 18:56

0.1% above the BofE base rate tracker Grin

AnonymousBird · 11/04/2011 18:57

2.99% fixed until June. Bought this two years ago. Obviously now need to get out there looking again!!!!

exhausted2011 · 11/04/2011 18:57

2.4% right now

KaraStarbuckThrace · 11/04/2011 18:57

Currently on a 4.9% fixed rate, 5y period, ends in May. We'll be going on to SVR which is currently 3.5%.

The deal we took out 5yo was excellent at the time...

pommedechocolat · 11/04/2011 18:57

6.9 over here for 3 years. We only had 10% deposit so only option.
It is an enormous mortgage monthly payment and I would be embarrassed to admit it to any of my friends.

charlieandlola · 11/04/2011 18:59

0.98% above BOEBR

Batteryhuman · 11/04/2011 18:59

2.5% another Nationwide customer. Our fixed rate ended nearly 2 years ago and we went onto their variable rate automatically.

CaveMum · 11/04/2011 19:00

2.9% (SVR) with Bank of Ireland.

We came out of a variable deal about 18 months ago but decided not to take out a new deal as we plan to move soon. We will be taking out a fixed rate deal with the next mortgage as we plan to start a family and want to be certain of our monthly outgoings.

There are some very good 5 year fixed rate deals out there at the moment if you have at least 20% equity in your home. Nationwide has the best deal right now.

NinkyNonker · 11/04/2011 19:00

We had a great, 0.75% below base tracker up until a yr ago, was awesome. Grin

minipie · 11/04/2011 19:02

2.29% tracker (1.79% above base rate)

very Envy of all those who got great base rate trackers a couple of years ago

trice · 11/04/2011 19:02

3.75%

whitevanwoman · 11/04/2011 19:03

about £17 a month for the past while
