To tell dh to "give it a rest" ?

I babysit once a week for a pal.

She & her dh have no family nearby, so not opportunity for a break.

I have family 10 minutes from me and none of them are even the least bit interested in my child, so i know what its like having zero support or help. We have never even been out to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we have been married for 11 years.

Dh keeps saying " i ope that she plans on reciprocating"

My child does not know her, she does not drive and i wouldnt dream of asking her to babysit for us.
I do it because i adore her baby, and i love her as a friend, she had pnd and just needs 1 few hours break...which i am in a position to offer.

so dh....wind your neck in, or AIBU?

Yanbu. Youre doing a wonderful caring thing. I hope it comes
Back to you twofold. You sound lovely and a wonderful friend. Your husband is blessed with a child and a lovely wife and could spend less time moaning and more time appreciating that

Nobody has said that the OP shouldn't babysit, though! And the DH didn't say that either. I don't know why the OP's second post said she would keep doing it despite our opinions, when nobody said it was unreasonable for her to babysit.

What the DH did was express a desire for someone to babysit for them so they could have a break as well. That's what people were agreeing with.

And now they're getting it, which is lovely.

Gosh it was that easy. Shame the ops dh managed to make her feel crap about the wonderful thing she does rather than just asking his dm straight off.
but never mind alls well ends with a night out or summat

Enjoy it op. You deserve it
