Right, i bought my daughter a pair of Clarks Doodles second hand from eBay (yeah i know, who the hell buys second hand shoes for their kids - waits to be flogged) and they've arrived and I;m sorry but ew...i really want to send them back and have messaged the seller telling her of my unhappiness. The shoes insole is almost black, you can se toe marks at the bottom Hmm

They are minging, send them back!

belledechocchipcookie · 05/04/2011 14:19

Did she say that they had been worn?

ashamedandconfused · 05/04/2011 14:19

nowt wrong with second hand doodles (as long as they fit) as they are only a fabric shoe

were they advertised as clean/good condition?

they can be machine washed - would it be worth a try?

You can use the direct link without giving a password to a photobucket hosted picture. Remember for next time.

Return them, bearing in mind you pay return postage costs as you have to send back signed for. Depending on how much they cost would it be worth just keeping them/washing them and leaving negative feedback.

whattheheckisthisflaminplace · 05/04/2011 14:26

Well I paid £6.50 odd including p&p...yes she did say they were used but no mention of dirty insoles etc :(

I bought them for nursery cos I am sick of sending her in nice shoes only for her to come back with paint/play doh/food on the ))investagative kids((

Can't look at link as it says too many failed log ins, but Doodles do wash really well in the machine, but yes I think if the listing stated they were in good condition, I would say something and either send them back or leave neg/neutral...

ConstanceFelicity · 05/04/2011 14:29

Tbh I woud expect second hand children's shoes to get like that. YThat's what happens when canvas shoes are worn by children.

ashamedandconfused · 05/04/2011 14:29

Shock they are filthy!!

were they not like that on the ebay pics?

no way worth £6.50!!!!!

I might have risked £3 inc P&P, hoping they would wash well!!

WalterFlipsticks · 05/04/2011 14:30

X posts, errr yak they are pretty minging, although nothing a cycle in the washing machine wouldn't get rid of, I would be tempted to wash them at that price, thats not bad including p&P imo

whattheheckisthisflaminplace · 05/04/2011 14:30

we have had doodles in past and they've never got into that state. I'm not goin to wash unless she refuses refund, then will see what i can do and leave a neut/neg.

whenever i sell kids shoes, i take as many photos as it alllows, showing insoles etc

OP posts:
WalterFlipsticks · 05/04/2011 14:31

They are £20 odd new though, so say P&P was £2 ish, it's not bad, just my opinion though

whattheheckisthisflaminplace · 05/04/2011 14:32

I suppose they were okay considering price but had it been mentioned that they were in that state i wouldn't have bid on them in first place

OP posts:
belledechocchipcookie · 05/04/2011 14:32

Send them back. You should be able to get some new ones in the sale. It's shocking that people can sell things that are obviously filthy.

WalterFlipsticks · 05/04/2011 14:33

obviously I still agree seller is in the wrong, as listing misleading I just mean to avoid the hassle of sending them back Smile

whattheheckisthisflaminplace · 05/04/2011 14:34

Smile I'm just glad other people don't think I am over reacting!

They are gross, see if you can get refunded in full, or you could open a dispute cost around 2.25 to send back which you wont get back.

belledechocchipcookie · 05/04/2011 14:38

Ewww! [barf smiley]

whattheheckisthisflaminplace · 05/04/2011 14:38

GandTiceandaslice · 05/04/2011 14:40

Good god, I wouldn't have sold them. Or if I had, I would have washed them 1st.
People sell any old toot on there.

ContentlyPondering · 05/04/2011 14:44

Amazes me what some people sell.

I'd wash with bio and leave a negative, personally. Actually I'd probably ask for a refund before leaving a negative as its only fair, but if she came back with any bollocks and didn't cover return postage I'd keep and leave a neg.

FABsBackAndIsWell · 05/04/2011 14:46

Yuk.

I would send them back and demand ask for a refund.
