It depends on what it's about but generally Mumsnet is big enough to cover most subjects.

Heresjonny · 05/04/2011 02:51

thanks, i just get the feeling it's all about chat, which as a bloke is not my speciality. i just want to ask questions and get answers, sorry if i'm on the wrong site

on the topics page, you can select the right area to find what you are looking for....sleeping, feed, health, social, etc
why don't you give us your first question? Smile

Heresjonny · 05/04/2011 03:03

i guess my first question is can a single dad be part of all this?

OP posts:
LDNmummy · 05/04/2011 03:22

Yes definitely! There is dadsnet under one of the talk subsections but it isnt very active so please feel welcome here. I am relatively new myself but have gathered that there are some dads that pop up here from time to time. It can get crazy but that aside, Mumsnet is great for advice on anything to do with parenting. Welcome! Smile

Heresjonny · 05/04/2011 03:25

it just seems like a chat room?

OP posts:
Makudonarudo · 05/04/2011 03:26

Jonny, if you look up there ^ there's a section on 'getting started', and also on 'acronyms', which you were asking about in a thread elsewhere.

Heresjonny · 05/04/2011 03:26

ok who wants a chat?

OP posts:
BitOfFun · 05/04/2011 03:26

Spit it out, for God's sake!

dontcallmepeanut · 05/04/2011 03:29

Heresjonny · 05/04/2011 03:30

looked for them again, couldn't find them. am i just a dumb bloke?

OP posts:
dontcallmepeanut · 05/04/2011 03:31

Couldn't find what?

Makudonarudo · 05/04/2011 03:31

Jonny, just jump in and say/ask whatever. You don't need to ask permission on every thread (and it can derail/distract support threads, for example, to do so).

Heresjonny · 05/04/2011 03:32

you are all gonna hate me but i do think men and women think differently, i can't work out chat on a laptop

OP posts:
Makudonarudo · 05/04/2011 03:33

Gosh, you are really hung up on gender ;)

Makudonarudo · 05/04/2011 03:34

Perhaps you could aquaint yourself with how forums work before deciding it's all down to gender? Everyone starts somewhere - you don't need your hand held from first principles.

Heresjonny · 05/04/2011 03:34

no, not gender,computers

OP posts:
Heresjonny · 05/04/2011 03:37

i'm sorry anyone who answered me but by the time i write a response, theres been two other replies, i mean no offence to anyone, i'm new here

OP posts:
Makudonarudo · 05/04/2011 03:37

so you think women are better with computers than men? Well, points for kicking against stereotypes :D

Just have a read of the links, you'll get the hang of it :) In the meantime is there a particular question you wanted advice on?

kickassangel · 05/04/2011 03:42

everyone cross-posts all the time.

also, a thread can go 'dead' for a few days before someone else joins again.

do NOT start up really old threads again, though.

Heresjonny · 05/04/2011 03:43
