ok this is mumsnet, yes we all post to moan, voice an opinion, vent or just ask for a bit of advice, there seem to be a good number of people who post down right vile responses. I am not talking about disagreeing with the subject matter, if you ask am i being unreasonable then you can expect a few yeses, but to be called a bitch and worse? AIBU to expect civil responses? i have an uneasy feeling that some posters are just on here to pick on others,

OP posts:
gordyslovesheep · 03/04/2011 19:33

BitOfFun · 03/04/2011 19:34

Lots of people are being vile on the "beautiful partner" thread too.

TiggyD LOL! Made me laugh out loud. But apparently if we do put hairclips on our young daughters heads we will turn them into bulimics so which is better - no husband or a husband but bulimia also?! And here's me thinking hairclips were hairclips!

gordyslovesheep · 03/04/2011 19:36

maybe we/they are all evil harpies who only got a bunch of daffs for mothers day, have daughters who refuse to wear bobbles and ugle husbands

doormat · 03/04/2011 19:39

plz tell me wat the fook yabu, yanby ans smug stands for....lmao at ungrateful "tat!"

Katy1368 · 03/04/2011 19:43

Ohh sorry was that me, was getting a bit annoyed with being called a princess, just shows how you can get drawn into these things. In my defence I am at work on mothers day and a bit grumpy about it myself! How do you put that embaressed face thing on your post!

catinthehat2 · 03/04/2011 19:45

are you sure you've been here for ages?

heliumballoons · 03/04/2011 19:48

OMG Ive name changed very recently. Hope I'm not thought of as a newbie twat. Grin

I have in the past posted genuine questions and been asked if I'm trying to make an issue out of a non issue?? Er no, thats why I asked, and clearly IABU Wink

YANBU to think some posts appear un necessarily harsh - but words on a screen are often misinterpreted as there's no tone to them iyswim?

BitOfFun · 03/04/2011 19:48

Did you used to get a lot of stick for your posting style, doormat? It sounds very unlike how I imagine Old MN Of Yore.

doormat · 03/04/2011 19:49

r u talking to me cat...yep i joined in 2003 but have been not on mn for past couple of years due to perwsonal reasons...now can someone plz tell me what they stand for lol

Mare11bp · 03/04/2011 19:50

Couldn't agree with OP more. Some people come on here for genuine advice and get savaged for it. Even if I disagree with a poster I always try to say it nicely and constructively.

Can't understand the lack of respect at times, and think people like this make it uncomfortable for others.

doormat · 03/04/2011 19:50

u mean the kisses bit of fun....nah i blame the world of fb for dat one lol...i evolved into a soppy sod lol

catinthehat2 · 03/04/2011 19:51

try this?

whomovedmychocolate · 03/04/2011 19:51

Really? I must be either used to you nest of vipers or looking at other threads Grin

catinthehat2 · 03/04/2011 19:52

"Even if I disagree with a poster I always try to say it nicely and constructively."

I bet people used to stick notices on your back at school saying " I am a smug twat, please kick me"

catinthehat2 · 03/04/2011 19:52

Do you think that will get deleted?

doormat · 03/04/2011 19:52

thx cat x

BitOfFun · 03/04/2011 19:53

Yes, the kisses, and the text speak. You very rarely used to see that on here. A bit more nowadays, I suppose, but not as extreme. I just noticed, and it seemed unusual.

catinthehat2 · 03/04/2011 19:53

no probly wobly

Mare11bp · 03/04/2011 19:54

Don't see that that's being smug, being respectful to people.........

doormat · 03/04/2011 19:55
