After 10 years they have finally identified the poor soul. Full name and pictures.

I find it heart breaking that this didn't make front page news. Just because it was 10 years ago doesn't mean he should be forgotten. Here is to those people still fighting on his behalf. I truely hope giving this poor lad a name and a face at last can help catch his killers xxxxxx

It was horrendous.

I don't want to think what that little boy went through. I really hope they catch the killers too.

doozle · 29/03/2011 21:42

Oh goodness, I remember this case. Going to read about it now.

peeriebear · 29/03/2011 21:43

Link? I have wondered about that poor boy from time to time :(

Mamaz0n · 29/03/2011 21:44

gosh i remember this.
It happened when my Ds was just a tiny baby and i remember crying my eyes out over the poor boy.

What he must have gone through i cannot imagine, the pain his family must be feeling is just beyond comprehension. I hope that there is a nice warm corner of hell await those that harmed him.

AuraofDora · 29/03/2011 21:45

how truly sad..would often think of him from time to time and the people who found him - is there a link?

LDNmummy · 29/03/2011 21:46

I was very traumatised by that story, it was the first time I realised the extent of the horrid things children can go through.

RIP and I hope they catch who did it and string them up, what monsters.

Desiderata · 29/03/2011 21:46

I remember reading this story years ago.

I doubt very much that they will catch his killers, however. Very sad.

got2bequackers · 29/03/2011 21:47

I am afraidI cant link am posting from my phone. I picked up an old copy of the 'Sun' on a bus and it was there in a tiny column on a middle page, complete with a photo of him smiling. It all made me very sad but the lack of press coverage is AWFUL.

It's in the Daily Mail

He was a beautiful child, not that that makes any difference.

EveryonesJealousOfGingers · 29/03/2011 21:49

Link here

NormanTebbit · 29/03/2011 21:49

here

got2bequackers · 29/03/2011 21:49

Desiderata ~ I partially agree but the odds were also against them ever identifying him. The forensic work that has gone into this case over the years is remarkable. At least someone is still fighting for him!

Can only find a Daily Wail link

Poor little lad - he's so gorgeous (if it is him - it's not yet confirmed, as I read the report).

animula · 29/03/2011 21:50

I read that today, too, and I'll confess to welling up. The tenacity of the police in pursuing this is something, though - they clearly haven't forgotten, or given up, and it can't have been an "uplifting" case to have been pursuing - or easy. And now he has a name. that's not much, but it is a something.

DontGoCurly · 29/03/2011 21:50

Even the Wikipedia page about it is not updated. Poor little darling. Sad

EveryonesJealousOfGingers · 29/03/2011 21:50

Absolutely awful

thekidsrule · 29/03/2011 21:51

OMG I remember this! It really affected me. Poor, poor child. I hope there is a hell, and those evil fuckers go there to the lowest levels. Not very christian of me I know, but the thought of that poor boy suffering...

fluffles · 29/03/2011 21:52

an old flatmate of mine was involved in trying to identify the source his clothing.. she changed jobs before they got anywhere i think.. glad that they've discovered who he was now.

Desiderata · 29/03/2011 21:56

The Met have a unit dedicated to 'voodoo' crimes. Were it not for that, I suspect that this poor boy would never have been identified.

moondog · 29/03/2011 21:57

Yes, that has stayed with me for a very long time.
I was also amazed it didn't get more coverage.

Desiderata · 29/03/2011 22:01

Well, many of us remember it, so I guess it did.
