To want to shout from the rooftops about my neighbours?

DD has an ongoing health problem with her lungs which hinders her sleep and causes her discomfort so she is crying a lot more than usual. She is getting us up at 4am most days (although not all) and when in pain can scream bloody murder.

Our next door neighbour rang the bell today (after a hellish night) and said that they heard our daughter screaming. I was waiting for the inevitable complaints but do you know what I got instead?

A basket of home cooked meals with the promise of more as they know we are having a hard time so want to help. These are not neighbours we are particularly close to speak to either. I was gobsmacked and burst into tears at their kindness.

I bloody love where I live, there is such a community here and I want to shout it from the rooftops!

Oh what a genuinely lovely story! Sounds like a fantastic place to live. :)

That's lovely. Nice neighbours are worth their weight in gold. My DS plays 2 instruments and practices loads. I'm so conscience of the noise he makes and often apologise to my neighbours. They always say they don't mind and in fact turn the tv off sometimes to listen! They also say their daughter likes to hear him too when she comes round. It's hard to believe because the saxophone is so loud - I heard him play it once when I was round their house feeding their cat and it was like he was in the house. I'm only renting and hope to buy at some point but will miss my neighbours so much.
