Well I am on a healthy eating and exercise thing. Have been good for nearly two weeks and lost 9lbs. I had a nice meal out Friday night but have completely lost the plot and eaten 4x bags of mini biscuits and nutrigrain bar and a bag of squares.

Bugger - now I feel like I will have cocked up the whole weeks weight loss. Shit bags. Anyone else fallen off the wagon tonight?

I don't eat any shit at all. Not a sausage. I have toast for lunch, and toast for tea, or maybe some crackers and low fat marg.

I have a low metabolism too, I rarely feel hungry but have to eat something.

The only way my excess 10lb is going to come off is exercise.

Then I be a size 10 again.

PatTheHammer · 27/03/2011 21:56

Well if its only 10lbs then the 30 day shred should work for you Fabby as it promises a 20lb loss on the case, good luck, hope it works!

I couldn't survive on that, I eat 3 decent meals a day and often have a pudding plus a snack at breaktime. Mind you I am on my feet all day at work and usually all evening until the kids go to bed!

This is why exercise is the only way for me, I love food too muchGrin

FabbyChic · 27/03/2011 21:57

If I worked Id be hyper active, but I don't at the moment, other than walking the dog and housework, I sit on my bottom all day!

Hence Im actually never hungry.

squeakytoy · 27/03/2011 22:00

Fabby, if I were you, cut out the bread and crackers. It is all carbs and that could be what is stopping that last bit dropping off.

For breakfast I have scrambled or poached eggs, or fruit.

I make a huge salad in the morning, either a tuna one, or a greek one with feta, and eat every 4 hours.

Dinner is fish or meat with veg, no potatoes.

borderslass · 27/03/2011 22:02

Fabby I'm like you never really hungry which is why it's taken so long to lose the weight I filled a food diary in last week and was quite shocked how little I eat so I'm aiming to eat more now only got 6 pounds to my target.
I find if I eat before taking DS to school I eat more as it kick starts my metabolism otherwise I forget to eat.

napoleona · 27/03/2011 22:02

Hot cross buns were my dinner! I can't resist them, even tho I felt full after two, tomorrow I will be good. I recently lost half a stone and I don't want it back, what's all this shred thing about ?

FabbyChic · 27/03/2011 22:02

I like eggs and I'll get some tomorrow, scrambled eggs be nice!

Im not adverse to salad either good idea! Thanks will try it.

squeakytoy · 27/03/2011 22:06

I have eaten so many eggs this week I am surprised I am not clucking!!

I made a wicked seafood omelette though and had that for dinner a couple of nights.

Bread has always been my downfall so cutting that out completely was hard for the first couple of days, but I have felt a lot less bloated and sluggish this week too, so I will be doing it for another week now. If I tell myself if it is just one week at a time, I can mentally cope with it!..

FabbyChic · 27/03/2011 22:08

Thats the thing isn't it taking it a week at a time, I only weigh myself once a week and the not moving from 10stone was real pissing me off, but I think it is the bread as that is all I eat so will cut it out.

worraliberty · 27/03/2011 22:08

I haven't read the whole thread so apologies if someone has said it already.

Everyone likes a tasty snack now and then OP. I'm sure if you'd just eaten one bag of mini biscuits and say one nutrigrain bar it might not have been so bad.

It sounds like you were snacking because you were actually very hungry rather than because you fancied a treat. It might be best next time to eat your meal and then treat yourself afterwards when you have a little less room in your belly.

PatTheHammer · 27/03/2011 22:08

The trouble is with eating too little is that your body can lower its metabolism to 'starvation' style levels. You have to eat a certain amount of calories a day to sustain weightloss, there is a certain range and too much below or too much over is not a good thing.

If you drastically reduce Carbs you will find it hard to reintroduce them without gaining weight, you could fine less-refined carbs a better alternative.

I also eat eggs or porridge in the mornings, I feel so much more full than if I eat toast.

borderslass · 27/03/2011 22:12

That's what I found out Pat my food diary was basically a list of veg and salad, so mostly empty calories I've ate more meat and fish this week so far can't eat bread or pasta anymore as it sets my IBS off.

squeakytoy · 27/03/2011 22:16

I am just cutting out carbs as much as I can for the first couple of weeks to kickstart my metablolism. I will eat rice and pasta, and boiled or jacket spuds in moderate quantities after this week. I am going to try having them at lunchtime though, rather than in the evening.

Happymm · 27/03/2011 22:18

Have just bought the zumba wii game-will let you know how THAT goes! :o

squeakytoy · 27/03/2011 22:18

Borderslass, you can get a freefrom spaghetti that is wheat, gluten and egg free, and it is really no different at all from the usual pasta. We have that with bolognaise, using turkey mince and loads of veg.

PatTheHammer · 27/03/2011 22:19

I think a bigger meal at lunchtime is a good plan squeaky. I do it at weekends but can't manage in the week.

bibbitybobbityhat · 27/03/2011 22:22

OP - that's what happens when you go on a diet.

Ever wondered why people who diet are always going up and down in weight and seem obsessed with food?

Your body will not allow you to radically change the way you eat without fighting back.

As soon as you say "right, I'm not going to eat another biscuit until I am at my goal weight" you immediately start to crave biscuits.

borderslass · 27/03/2011 22:22

Squeakytoy thanks for that where can you get it.

squeakytoy · 27/03/2011 22:25

Sainsburys and Asda both do it (in the freefrom section) so I would imagine that Tesco will do it too. Its also not ridiculously overpriced like most of the freefrom stuff can be. There are pasta shells, lasagne sheets and spaghetti.

Warburtons have just brough a wheat/gluten free loaf out, but at £2.70 a go, that is just madness.

Dilligaf81 · 27/03/2011 22:53

Anyone asking about 30 day shred I got mine at play.com for £5. The results are amazing.

whatsallthehullaballoo · 28/03/2011 07:59

Thanks Worraliberty - I have been particularly careful to eat only good stuff - my husband was eating stuff next to me and I caved!!

Bibbitybobbityhat- You are right - I know you are right but I cannot have just 1 of anything. It's all or nothing with me!
