i'd blanked it from my memory but was just reminded and actually puked a bit into my mouth.

weird to have such a strong physical reaction to a memory.

but worzel gummidge was the most hideous horrible awful thing in the world and now i can't stop thinking about itand it's making me feel all weird and anxious.

Oh god yes Chocky

Mind you I'm still terrified of Bagpuss, a talking cat - that's just heinous.

And Mr Ben used to give me the willies too.

ShirleyKnot · 24/03/2011 19:51

Ds1 cried every time that they burned the tubby toast.

whomovedmychocolate · 24/03/2011 19:51

Not literally obviously. Blush

ShirleyKnot · 24/03/2011 19:52

Mr Ben gave you the willies? I knew he was up to no good in that changing room.

noddyholder · 24/03/2011 19:53

I loved mr benn too but not keen on barbapapa

preggersandhungry · 24/03/2011 19:54

I was also horrified and scared by Worzel as a child, so I totally understand, and it has caused me to feel anxious whenever I see a scarecrow. I am the sort of person who is not scared of anything (spiders, wasps, going out to groups or exercise classes on my own, etc.) apart from that freaky man, Worzel.

Mayqueene · 24/03/2011 20:00

I used to be terrified of the ...the ........Krankies .....aaaaggrggh

They were absolutely NOT Fan-dabi-dozi!!!

TooManyBlossoms · 24/03/2011 20:00

Chickens oh yes, I vaguely remember Moondial! Did it have a girl in it called Araminta, Minty for short? That was fab.

SpawnChorus · 24/03/2011 20:01

Oh God yaDnbu....He was unspeakably creepy. Just had a mosey on youtube and chickened out of actually playing any of the clips cos DH is away tonight.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 24/03/2011 20:02

The Krankies were very creepy. A little boy, who is actually a middle aged woman?! Now that will fanboozle your noodle when you're young and impressionable. Sinister.

I can't remember the characters very well, TooMany, just the creepy music It was ghosts and spookiness

LaurieFairyCake · 24/03/2011 20:03

Weirdos

Unless you got fucked by a scarecrow and don't remember

TinaSpoon · 24/03/2011 20:06

YABU. I love Worzel. Not Aunt Sally though, what a bitch. Smile

TinaSpoon · 24/03/2011 20:10

When you're a little kid yourself though you don't notice that Jimmy Krankie or whatever 'his' name was was a middle aged woman, I didn't and nobody else did, it was only when we got older and realised it was a woman that it seemed weird! Smile
So YABU as well lol. Oh and possibly older than I was at the height of the Krankies to even recognise it wasn't a little boy!

Tamashii · 24/03/2011 20:15

I HATED Worzel Gummidge stick fingers that stuck out of his fingerless gloves and the way he would get them all covered in cake when he had his "cuppa tea and a sheee-lice of caaaaake"
Thanks for reminding me of "Timbaaaaaaaaa" too - that was stored way back in regressed memories....

Chocky was terrifying. Just the titles (That and Tripods !!!)

Thanks for reminding me of Noseybonk The way you could see his eyes up those big nostrils on top of just being plain terrifying. I stupidly looked this up on Youtube and both me and DH had nightmares! It was WAAAAAY worse than I remembered...

I LOVED Monkey Magic!!!! The music at the end always made me sad tho.

FuppyGish · 24/03/2011 20:18

op - am so with you, im terrified of him. DP does the voice sometimes and it makes me feel physically sick.

Wwhich is a shame cos the son (Sean) is well fit but what if his dad came for tea?????????? arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

BamBam21 · 24/03/2011 20:23

Agree about Chocky. Really scary.

Does anyone remember Dramarama? There was an episode with a ghost girl who sang "Boys & Girls Go Out to Play", and it syill freaks me out just thinking about it.

stainesmassif · 24/03/2011 20:27

how has noone mentioned the banana splits? i just google searched them and had to close the window as soon as i saw their freaky fat puppet heads. ewwww.

TinaSpoon · 24/03/2011 20:30

*Ditto that Pink Windmill thing with Keith Harris and Grotbags.

I'm going now, this is upsetting me.*

It was Rod Hull in the Pink Windmill. not Keith Harris! Keith Harris was the one with Orville the Duck!
Do people on this thread know nothing?! Grin

ThisFeelsWeird · 24/03/2011 20:32

I found the Krankies really freaky too. And supergran! Oh and rentaghost was the scariest of the lot.

At the time I liked WG but looking back he was terrifying - would hate to see a clip of it now.

LetThereBeRock · 24/03/2011 20:32

I don't think you have to worry about his father's ghost coming for tea,Fuppy.Grin

LetThereBeRock · 24/03/2011 20:33

Grotbags anyone? She still terrifies me.

BamBam21 · 24/03/2011 20:34

Oh, and I was terrified of the end music on Trumpton.Blush Loved the programme, but ran and hid when that music came on!Grin

And, obviously, the cybermen..........
