i'd blanked it from my memory but was just reminded and actually puked a bit into my mouth.

I loved Wurzel! My dad is friends with Aunt Sally in RL. I've never been able to call her anything other than Aunt Sally, she doesn't seem to mind though, luckily Grin

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 24/03/2011 19:03

I loved Worzel Gummidge, and RentaghostGrin

Loved Miss Popoff!

TubbyDuffs · 24/03/2011 19:04

I must be some kind of weirdo, but I liked Wurzel and Rentaghost.... not a big fan of Catweazle though (the Crowman from Wurzel wasn't he?), however, never had a physical reaction to any of them.

Una Stubbs on the other hand ...

TubbyDuffs · 24/03/2011 19:06

Just read the rest of the thread.... "There's somebody at the door"... Grotbags...loved her.

I am a weirdo!

walklikeapenguin · 24/03/2011 19:14

Oh my God YADDNBU!

Even thinking about it now I've got the same horrible feeling up the back of my neck that I get if I've seen a big spider. It was awful. I actually used to hide behind the sofa when it came on.

the bits where he takes his head off....urghhh.....the bits where he eats his "cup of tea and a slice of cake".....urghhh....the voice that he says that in....urghhh.....and especially the bit at the end when he falls over and goes timbaaaaah!

Yes, Chickens, Chocky scared the shit out of me too...and Chocky's Children

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 24/03/2011 19:17

Who was the freaky dude with the wiggling hair? He wore little round glasses. Sinister as fuck.

Olivetti · 24/03/2011 19:17

Chocky.....scream!

Anyone remember the boy from space?? Aaaarghh, the thin man!

MaryMungo · 24/03/2011 19:18

I spent two episodes of Sherlock trying to figure out why Mrs Hudson looked so familiar til DH took pity and told me it was Aunt Sally. I loved the Crowman from Worzel Gummidge, but looking at Catweazle did always make me slightly ill....

walklikeapenguin · 24/03/2011 19:20

Olivetti - Now you've dragged up a memory I was really trying to blank out.

There was a bit where the thin man chased them up a hill which looked a bit similar to the one on my way home from school.

I imagined he was chasing me up the hill every time I walkied up it...for about 10 years....literally!

ShirleyKnot · 24/03/2011 19:22

Nosybonk. Nosybonk. Nosybonk.

shouldiseeapsychicornot · 24/03/2011 19:22

oh i agree i used to be papping myself at it - its so weirdy freaky - when he used to take his head off then stand in his field like he was crucified bleurghhh

georgie22 · 24/03/2011 19:23

We've got the Complete Collection of Worzel on DVD. I loved it as a child although my hubby and I did think it looked a little scary on seeing it again! Loved his different heads though! Grin

Olivetti · 24/03/2011 19:23

Aaaaarrrggghhh and there was one time the thin man chased them in a car, and you could just see his horrible pasty face in the mirror [shudders and hugs cushions]

ShirleyKnot · 24/03/2011 19:27

I thought chocky was that orange thing....oh no that was wordy. Wordy was weird and all.

It's only when I clicked on chicken's link and saw that it was a programme on ITV that I realised why I never saw it. ITV is well common.

chocolateorange · 24/03/2011 19:35

Boy from space was EVIL. Had to watch it at school - hor-bloody-rendous, I used to feign illness and cry to get out of it, then when the bastards made me watch it, I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night!

Still gives me the creeps.

Though, to be fair, Chorlton and the Wheelies used to scare me so I was never gonna win any bravery awards!

NarcolepsyQueen · 24/03/2011 19:41
anybody?
Cheeruploveitmightneverhappen · 24/03/2011 19:45

Chickens- he was Mr Majeeka (sp?) I think.

mathanxiety · 24/03/2011 19:45

I have a memory involving the song 'Do Not Wubba Me or I Will Wubba You' from Sesame Street playing in the car while we went round and round in an almost endless loop looking for a shop that was cunningly hidden behind another building despite what the map said -- makes me wonder how DD1 made it past the age of 2.

I found the Teletubbies creepy on many levels
