He told me to start this thread as he obviously thinks IABU!
So, blonde highlights for an 11yr old boy, yes or no?
(Of course some of his friends do which makes me even more unreasonable in his eyes!)

The schools around here wouldn't and don't allow it. Children at my DCs' secondary school have been sent home for this and not allowed back until their hair is back to natural colour. I agree with it, as this is what you sign up for when you join the school. It's set out quite clearly in the "T&C".

OP, if he really wants it and you agree, let him experiment in the summer hols, but imo 11 is far too young - he's still growing pretty quickly, hasn't finished puberty, and he can't pay for it, either. Stick to your guns!
