Oh poo. Why didn't you all tell me? Now I have an all grown up DS1 who has a real one.

I hate you all

Disclaimer: when painting a moustache on your DC, it is not advisable to use a PERMANENT marker! Hmm

Love the taches! Would advise against a proper stick on one if you are b/f- very tickly.

But I believe in encouraging the dc's creativity, so I let them construct their own moustache (and often beard too) from chocolate. But do find the flaky bits from the Greggs sausage rolls then get stuck to it.

tryingtoleave · 18/03/2011 01:36

I did a lovely moustache on ds when he was about 9 months and put him in a stripey bonds onesie to dress him up as Pubert Adams. No one got it though Sad, even though DH and I were dressed up as morticia and gomez.

Lulie110 · 18/03/2011 01:43

StayFrosty - I am horrified at how you have treated your poor child. SHE clearly wants a moustache too, why discriminate against her? Wink obv.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 18/03/2011 04:00

Hee hee. Gorgeous children, SF.

madwomanintheattic · 18/03/2011 04:21

dd2 had her first moustache at about 6 mos.

eyeliner is def the way ahead.

it didn't ever occur to me with dd1 and ds1. i can't imagine why not. (dd2 is now 7yo lol, clearly i was way ahead of myself in the mn uber-parent stakes)

Penelope1980 · 18/03/2011 04:28

My Dad drew one on my little sister when she was a baby. Mum flipped when she came home because it was in a felt that took ages to get off. My sister seemed unconcerned, and over 25 years later I still laugh when I think about her with it.

Tee2072 · 18/03/2011 06:49

Brilliant! Is my son too old at 21 months? Or shall I do it before I head to the shops today?

We popped stick on stars onto dd's forehead when she was 3 months, she was into scary stares and had spiky hair... She looked exactly like Vivienne from the young ones!

Nb. No child was physically harmed... Perhaps psychologically traumatised but not physically harmed!

fiveisanawfullybignumber · 18/03/2011 08:17

tryingtoleave, I too had a Pubert Adams. He was only 6 weeks and thouroughly enjoyed the experience. Black eyeliner did the trick.

tinierclanger · 18/03/2011 08:17

:( have I missed the boat at 2.5? Can't believe this never occurred to me before!

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 18/03/2011 08:26

Honeydragon how on earth did you manage to Immac the baby? Shock

colditz · 18/03/2011 08:28

You MUST wait until the child recognises himself in the mirror. Watchng a baby trying to pull a drawn-on moustache from his face is a little known and transient pleasure.

nickschick · 18/03/2011 08:29

Well that didnt go well Sad .....managed to draw half a stalin moustache on ds1 then he woke up ......hes now gone to college without washing or looking in the mirror.

AtYourCervix · 18/03/2011 08:34

I once painted DD2 green. all over. must have been about 6 months old and a touch chubby. looked just like the hulk. DH didn't talk to me for days.

Wamster · 18/03/2011 10:22

To the poster who made the slug suggestion: Don't be silly- slugs are so last dear, daarling.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 18/03/2011 10:25

i can't belieeeeeve i never did this with dd1 Sad

but i knew there had to be a good reason for having a second child

CrapBag · 18/03/2011 10:27

Umm, I really don't get this.

Why is this funny? I am assuming this is some sort of piss take?

BarbaraBar · 18/03/2011 10:29

Frosty - genius!

I'm loving the way your ds wears the 'tache with such nonchalance.

Do you think he was a circus ringmaster in a former life?

JarethTheGoblinKing · 18/03/2011 10:32

I can't believe I missed this opportunity! Why did I never think of this!

Right, decision made. We're having a second child Grin
