And not because they're not on there, I totally agree they are (though picking your site probably helps), it's just that every fucker has "Very intelligent" on their profile, so you have to read a hell of a lot of them if you're using that as a factor to sift through.

I did get some very random stuff sent to me on dating sites back in the day. I met DH on a dating website (okcupid, good for nerdy types, or it was back in the day. May now be different..) Dating nerdy types has its own pitfalls, but they generally can spell.

I also wrote something about basic command of the English language being a requirement of getting to know me, in my profile. (And probably wrote something wanky like "Decent grasp of French and Hindi also a plus" - it did weed out the easily intimidated).

I was VERY picky and met 2 or 3 really really nice guys, a couple of tossers. Had some fab sex and then married the best of 'em.

I to met my DP on a dating website and I must admit I still cringe when he writes email or txt, as his grammar or, rather lack of it is not his most attractive feature!
