always ignoring most french parents just hit their kids within an inch of their lives?

maybe thats why they sit at tables for HOURS

why do we want to have kids playing all the time everywhere yet have this ODD out of place hang up about meals?

Ireland is in Europe. So is Iceland. Europe continental or otherwise is not one great homogenous mass, stop being lazy.

Dutch kids can be little ratbags too btw. Although there is no obsession with bed by 7pm here. Maybe because we're all too stoned and busy watching porn on kid's TV. Softcore only mind you, we keep the hardcore for us adults.

But in S. Europe it is true that you are much more likely to be able to light up a fag inside a restaurant at 1am and ignore your children playing with matches under the table while you order another bottle of wine. Innit?
